Nothing. Except for the fact that Disney had originally decided to hide how much Walt smoked and removed some of them from the display. Pictures of him with smoke above his head have also been edited. That is why I made that comment.

Re: Mr. Lincoln will be back!

I have to wonder about the wisdom of bringing something back in 2007, say early January.....

...when nobody will be there to see it!

What does "After the 50th" mean to them? To me, "After the 50th" means....the next season, which'd be Christmas----December!!!

    Unless.........The 50th isn't ending until early January......In my dreams!

I understand, but it was part of Walt's life and his death.

That's funny about the editted pictures, I had no idea Disney did that to the picture. It's clear that they are interested in keeping the squeaky-clean "Uncle Walt" image they have worked so desperately to create. I get kind of frustrated when people think Walt was this perfect individual, this saint who did nothing bad and could do no wrong. He was an incredible family man and cared deeply for the well-being of children, but he's still human after all. It's kind of ironic that Walt's drinking, smoking and cussing is too much for the modern Disney. From what I've heard he had quite a temper too, lol. I really wish they would show the man, not the sanitized corporate image they've turned Walt into nowadays.

Or, the silence could be due to the fact that there are more important things for the Disney buzz machine to concern itself with than confirming the return of an attraction that they already said was going to return. Seriously, if you're expecting some sort of big "It's back!" campaign like for Space Mountain, you're dreaming. I honestly doubt that the Opera House cast will even know when Mr. Lincoln is returning until we see update training appear on our schedules. I love my attraction to pieces, but really, I don't blame WDI and TDA for turning their attention to more high-profile matters.

They should have Mr. Lincoln waving on the back of the train for a few months before he returns to the opera house.

For all you Star Trek fans, Disney should have an Evil Lincoln version for Holloween.

In my days working there, I talked to many employees who started when the Park first opened...and they told me that as an employer he wasn't exactly always like the kind, grandfatherly figure that I'd grown up with on television. Not that this diminishes what he dreamed or accomplished...with vices and virtues just like anyone else.

I find this conversation kind of funny, because unless Abe was taken out for cleaning I doubt he's actually "gone" anywhere. After all, the 50th presentation takes place on the screen in front of him.

    Aerinpegadrak, is this correct?

I received this from Disneyland when I sent them an e-mail asking for assurance that Mr. Lincoln would return:

Regretfully, the information you have requested has yet to be
    determined. Generally, entertainment
schedules are determined 1 month in advance. There are plans to bring
    back the Lincoln attraction,
but currently, it is unsure when that might happen. You are invited to
contact us again in the near
    future.

Shh. Mr. Lincoln's on vacation. We just got a postcard from him from New Orleans. There's no possible way he could be in a box behind our screen, surrounded by patriotic bunting. Absolutely no way whatsoever. On vacation, I tells ya.

It's more of a working vacation. He's helping out with the rebuilding efforts, what a swell guy. Wish him a safe return.
