Where'd you hear that from? I know CM's have to go through the ride each night and look for any left behind items by the tracks or in the Doom Buggies. Seems a little difficult AND dangerous to do that with the buggies still moving...

And Crazy Legs, remember a long time ago I asked you if you got to go through that tunnel?

Yes! Thanks to CrazyLegs, we all got to ride through the back, again and again, when the new bride went in! It was awesome!

I would love to do that and everytime i exit the ride i look back there and it looks pretty spooky but the only thing spooky about it is probably getting yelled at by a cast member...

Re: Has anyone ever rode the Doom Buggies back to the loading area?

My mother is usually in a wheel chair... so at DL during the VMK Tour we went down the elevator, dropped the wheel chair off.. got in, then went around... past unload, into the dark and very expensive turn, past the CM area which looked to be empty.. (I thought I saw a small cove area with some brooms...) then returned to load.. then went through the chained part back up the elevator... (Which can move fast.. I think it was in reverse faster...) and we left.... (Is this Haunted room actually Shrinking.. Or did you just get off the ride.. lol)

At WDW unload is on level floor with the back so you enter there with a wheel chair.. or you can see the pre show if you can stand for 15 minutes extra minutes and enter through the handicap entrance.. (One of the servants quarters doors.. Nicely themed...Dusty and Fish Bulb saw it for sure..) WDW's turn is that, a small turn around in a dark area and entering the load area to experience the attraction.... thus.. You load at the exit.. and pass the entrance.. lol

    I have several times.
Not much to see just a black wall and a curtain.
If you try to open it, a CM will come out and give dirty looks.
I think it's their Operations Area.

Just a few details: The whole 'right turn, around the corner, and drop a little' is maybe 60 feet between the end of Unload and the beginning of 'Load'. Been there...

The area where you can see through the curtain to the Ride Operator station, and the lights under the track - that's the daily overnight maintenance and repair spot, for checking out the cars every few days.

There is a second place where they can open a roll-up access door to a back room and do major work like changing out entire DoomBuggy cars, IIRC it is between the Ballroom and the Attic.
