Pirates Opening on June 25, 2006....

Why isn't Pirates opening on June 25th?

If the premiere is on the 24th, why not open it to the public on the next day. Currently, the publicized public opening is June 26th.

There will be a lot of work going on after the 24th. All those bleachers and the screen. In fact from what I hear a lot of that area will still be closed off.

I've heard from mouseinfo that it will be soft opening on the 25th at 11:am. I cannot confirm it though

I don't trust the CMs that answer the phones anymore. They all have different stories about upcoming events.

Maybe the soft opening thing is true, but the official opening date to the public, as publicized on heaven knows how many official Disney signs and online things, is the 26th.

If Disney invests in printing something like that out (and publicizes everywhere that it's the 26th), I'd buy that over a recording made probably by a misinformed CM. The ride may very well be open and running for guests on the 25th, but it won't be the official opening to the public.

They will probably clean it and make sure it is perfect for the public. THey will have to take down all of the bleachers, screens etc. etc.

Those will not be down on the 26th.

I'll be there the 24th, 25th, and 26th. I'll be filming the red carpet, and I may film the ride but not sure yet.

Is it going to be an entirely different ride? or are they just reopening up the old pirate of the caribbean ride??

I do think that the confusion on the date is strange. I know that they have to move a lot of stuff out of the way, but that could be done in one night. But perhaps the confusion is really the fact that this is a big event and too many hands are coordinating it.
