    WDW stealing DL's thunder, again???

During DL's 50th, quite an uproar occurred by Disnleyland Anheim
fan's when Disney Marketing Decided that WDW would also be
joining in the celebration, and decorating the WDW Castle gold, too.

Next came the WDW Commercials which made it look like Walt Disney
himself dedicated WDW, with footage from Walt Disney actually dedicating
Disneyland Anaheim. Those two things amounted to the Disney Company itself outright lying about WDW history, and disrespecting the true history of Disneyland ~ the original park in Anheim that Walt actually dedicated.

NOW, someone at WDW is pulling the same kind of CRAP, and it's time
    THEY STOP THE SACRILEGE!!!

Over at DIZPIN, they are showing a picture of a Pin that is being released at WDW:

    http://www.dizpins.com/monthly_relea...w_july2006.htm

Take a look at the Monorail Picture near the top of the page.

Why the heck does WDW issue pins about DL! Over that last couple of months, that bad memories of this type of thing happening seemed to be fading away, and then WDW does this again!!!!!!

Erm, this actually has nothing to do with the two examples you stated. In the examples you provided, Disney Marketing made no differentiation between Disneyland and Walt Disney World - in this instance, Walt Disney World are selling a pin based on the Disneyland Monorail, in honour of Disneyland. There is a huge Disneyland D on the bottom. They are promoting Disneyland!

    Give me a break!

"This limited edition pin celebrates the Disneyland Resort Monorail."

At least there saying "Disneyland Resort" and not WDW. It still is wrong!!!

You must not have seen the "Serenity Now" episode of Seinfeld.

If the pin regarding the 1959 Monorail was Introduced at DL, where it
actually is, I have no problem with that.

But, instead they are introducing and selling it at WDW?!?!?!?!?
    THAT IS COMPLETELY WRONG!

Yeah I kinda don't get it either. Why is WDW selling a pin about one of Disneyland's rides? Honestly, how much of this pin will sell? They should sell it at DLR and not WDW. I've never seen DLR selling a pin for a ride that was in WDW, Disneyland Paris, or any other Disney parks.

dont they always do stuff like this?

release pins all over the place to make you look for them and actually make it a challenge to get the pin you "need"?

Re: WDW stealing DL's thunder, again???

Yes, they do. They have been selling the 50 Magical Moments pins from Disneyland for the 50th at WDW, I have bought both the Fantasmic and Happiest Homecoming ones.

It isn't the end of the world. It won't affect your experience at the park in anyway. You are getting yourselves worked up for little reason.

They did that for Tiki Room, too...

I wouldn't mind if the pins were sold in Disneyland as well.

Re: WDW stealing DL's thunder, again???

The Walt Disney Originals Collection pays tribute to Walt Disney's pioneering achievements in great family entertainment. A new Limited Edition pin will be released each month throughout 2006.

It is nothing to do with Disneyland - it is to do with Walt Disney's pioneering achievements. This set is being sold at Walt Disney World, so it can include anything. It may include the new method animators used to film Snow White, but that wouldn't be a travesty to the Disney Studios if it wasn't sold there.

    its just the whining.

Outside the forums it would be called 'cross-promotion'.

Re: WDW stealing DL's thunder, again???

Yeah, I don't see anything here that says that the Monorail opened at WDW in 1959. It also shows the red bubble-top Monorail which WDW has never had, both their Monorail generations have been the streamlined kind like what both parks have now.

So what in the heck are you going on about? Walt does not exclusively belong to DL, y'know. And the WDW Monorail does too have ties to the DL original. They were both designed by Bob Gurr (at least Mk4 was, dunno about the WDW current trains) and the WDW one is actually a transportation system like Walt had hoped for (albeit one that has seen no expansion since Eisner!) and not simply listed as a park attraction. It's not total hearsay to say they're related.
