1967 was pretty good too with the brand new Tomorrowland (with Adventures thru Inner Space and the Carousel of Progress) and of course, Pirates.
Apparently IASW came along in 1966, but that 1967 visit was the first time I rode it, so I always lump it in with all the 1967 stuff.
Sounds good - the picture posted amazes me. What was the "Glacier Grotto", anyway?
Glacier Grotto is the inside of the matterhorn with all the ice and snow and the "wells expedition" props.
Are you talking about real snow and ice? Or the plastic 1978 stuff?Originally Posted by Nautilus
The 60's were the great years for the park.
New Fantasyland in 1983 was pretty amazing (OK, with a few exceptions like the loss of the Pirate Ship and Skull Rock). The old dark ride facades were really tacky and the new ones are (still) gorgeous.
The first new Tomorrowland was pretty good, too (1967)...I was a very happy second-grader that year.
The early 80's were good also. The 60's by far though was the best, for the "World of Motion." Someday soon Tommorrowland will be back.

Disneyland wasnt that good in 1955. It was really blank and storybook land was just a canal throught muddy banks, the rivers of america didnt have any trees so it was like rivers of dirt. It was different but nothing like what it is like today.
Disneyland has had many good years! It has only been since the 90's that things started to look grim. I think that 2005 was a very good year! It looks like this year is also turning out to be a great year, with the refurbishment of Pirates. Next year, 2007 also looks great with the re-opening of the subs. I think that Disneyland will have many more with John Lasseter around too.
What poster proves is that it is possible to do amazing improvements in a short period of time. Adjusted for inflation, Walt Disney had one 30th of the money that Disney has today. Yet, he will still able to find money to expand with six big attractions and improve the park.

I think people are deluding themselves if they think that, on Disneyland's present course, any new "'E'-ticket" attractions will open.Originally Posted by JiminyCricketFan
The business model to which Disneyland is clinging won't allow for new additions of this sort.
2005. For me anyways. My first trip was 1995, and from there the park just got worse. So for me, 2005 was the greatest year for Disneyland. A new paint shceme for tomorrowland, new space mountain, Remember Dreams come true, an awesome parade and Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters.
1992 and 1994 were great years, but 2006 is holdin its own as well=)
