Re: Picture of Walt's Apartment in the Firehouse

^ It was a reward to the Opera House cast for getting a million people in to see Mr. Lincoln before he left. Granted, most of the people who actually got the walkthrough weren't around during the Race to a Million, but we still got to go.

Wow, that was nice of Disney. Do you still work there at the opera house?

Well, it did take nearly a year to pull it off, and our leads had to do a lot of fighting to make sure we could get it. But yeah, it was pretty cool, and the plaid who gave us the tour was really nice and informative. We're actually given walkthroughs as rewards with some frequency; in addition to Walt's apartment, I've done Tower of Terror and Pirates before the refurb, and I've gotten a ride on Space Mountain with the lights on (and with all the lights and show off, that was cool), and we got to go on a Jungle Cruise boat with our lead a little while ago for getting one-way traffic for fireworks set up and running in ten minutes.

I'm still at the Opera House from time to time, though since I'm starting at the Jungle Cruise next week, it may be a little while before I see shifts there again.

Sorry, this is a little ...

No way. I just found them during a search, and while the layout of that site drives me nuts (and to be fair, they mention they are under construction), there are some unique photos there I hadn't seen before. I didn't know before posting here that was a National Geographic pic.

Did you have to give out one of these tickets?

Since we are in off topic land, I note your signature says to say hi in the Opera House (I guess now Jungle Cruise). Are you serious? I've been in the Opera House twice now, but since I don't know your real name, I don't know who to say hi to?

I have to ask this question, and this is sort of like asking about a joke that everyone knows the punchline to, except me.

Who is Maynard? I see pictures of him everyone online, and I see him mentioned in threads constantly, and from the photos, it appears he does all types of things. Is he a Cast Member, I'm guessing? What's the deal with Maynard?

He's a CM that people adore! I've never had the pleasure of meeting him, but I know there's at least one site dedicated to him. http://www.maynardhomepage.net/

Here's a family tree I found at the same site, but even they seem to have blank information...

Here are TWO more pictures from Walt's Apartment above the Fire Station, as well as the Patio outside, taken while he was alive:

Here are a couple of interesting threads involving MCers and Walt's apartment within the last six months or so. Here's one...

    And, Disneyphile's aforementioned adventure...

    Fun stuff!

Hmmmm...The lower photo...I'm not buying the fact that it was taken while he was still alive. The picture is very sharp, and I don't remember seeing tripods or camera cases like those in 1966.

And what is over on that chair in the lower left hand side? Is that a computer monitor? I'm betting that this was taken post 1990, maybe even within the past 10 years.

I think you are most definitely correct! The pictures were listed together on the same website, but the upper photo seems to be dated around the same time as the first National Geographic photo (which would be while Walt was alive), and the last picture is likely a more recent photo, maybe from a Castmember or lucky guest.
