I did not fall asleep in DCA, but I only got 2 hours of sleep before VF and I headed to DCA!!!!! Good good times!!!!! Unlike SoulQ I did not get an "I was there" pin like I wanted to. There was NO WAY I was going to wait 8 hours in the merch line.

Watching the opening ceremonies with great friends in ISAW area was FUN!!!!

And Anders I believe we stood pretty much where Walt stood........How awesome was that moment???

I flew 3,000 miles to be there and it was well worth it. My wife and I spent the night in DCA and rode Space mtn for the first time since it's major refurbishment as soon as we got in. We got to see Art Linkletter up close. Getting to meet Al Lutz and a few other Mice Chatters was pretty awesome as well. We were completly exhausted by the days end, but I'd relive that day again if I could.

You and me both! I was right infront of you in the merch. line! Damn that longest line in the world. Oh well. Here's my photographic evidence.

Morrigoon, you and my boyfriend must have been channeling eachother...

The evil line!! I'm pretty sure you can see BigPigletFan's braids and gold ribbons in the very left corner of this picture...

That was a really fun day, though. It sucks thinking about all of the MiceChatters that were there that I probably walked past as I was just trying to pass the time in DCA while waiting in line and didn't say "hi" and introduce myself. Dumb me!!

I was there. But, I wasn't getting in that merchandise line for anything in the world, so I still don't have the pin. Maybe someday. I think my favorite part was all the cast members lining the street, applauding the guests and saying "welcome home".

Same here. I got my merchandise in the Emporium, even though I didn't get the "pin" I got everything else, the small white t-shirt, mug, magnet, keychain. And I agree with you on the CM welcoming. Totally made me feel special that I was joining them on that day.

    Ditto.
Last year on that date I attended a picnic in Sacramento with Disney enthusiasts from another board--the one I belonged to before I was "recruited" to MiceChat. It was really hot that day in Sacto.

I was there and figment1986 and eyeore'snumber1fan were all there. we got in thursday night so they could ride space mountain. thank heavens they did because I don't think they would have gotten to ride it otherwise. We ran into art linkletter after the ceremony. he and his wife wanted to meet sleeping beauty. I watched the festivities from IASW and the kids tried to get into the merchandise line. unfortunately there was nothing left bu the time they got there but they didn't complain too much. IT was a special day. and the pictures of the MC taking over the carousel made it all the more better. I don't think there will ever be another day like it.

    I was there.

It was a wonderful day, I was there with my bestest of friends, we were blubbering Disney Geeks together in our element. I'll never forget it.

mytwo oldest kids went to Showlow with my inalws so I decided to go with a friend and her son to DL. We live in Tucson. I took my 5 year old daughter. We didn't know it was the 50th anniversary until we went on Friday night. I was so excited. Now my daughter will be able to say she was there when it turned 50 and she was 5. It was wonderful as it was just the two of us in Fantasy land as my friend and her son weren't interested in that part of the park. Personally for me it is my favorite part. We went on IASW three times as it is her favorite ride in all of DL. I completely enjoyed myself and it is a memory I will aways have with my little girl. She has our golden ears on her wall and love to talk about it. When she saw the princesses in Fantasmic and points with a grin from ear to ear I cried. I will never forget being there with her.

That must of been a very touching moment.
