I still have my hats. I have video. I know I was there. It's all good.
I wasn't going to stand in line for 6 hours for a pin when I brought a friend who I hadn't seen for awhile.
Hmmm...spend time w/ a friend that lives 3,000 away, or stand in line for a pin.
(he actually wasn't big on Disney...since I took him, he has asked about going on a few occasions...his work just gets in the way of him coming out and doing another trip).

To that end I'd like the Internet community to join me in reminding the Disney company that "it all started with Walt." As you can see below we've created some T-shirts, plus a few simple graphics that you can copy and paste into your websites to let folks know how you feel.

The wife and I got in line around 5:30 am and had the white and black checkered wrist bands. I should have had a better plan for that day. Too much indecision between the two of us. But by the end of the day (and several heat strokes later) it was pretty cool. I didn't get the "I WAS THERE" pin, but went back the next day and got me two of the creepy Walt pins they were selling on the 17th.

I was there and had a great time. I went to the mice chat, laughing place and mouseplanet meetings... along with the tiki room and Jungle meetings.

By far the best day I've ever had in a Disney park. Definately worth the trip from New Jersey. My best friend and I flew out for that week, camped out in DCA. We got there around 8pm July 16th, we were about 100 people from the front of the line. Got into DL as soon as they opened, got our pin and merchandise in about half an hour and got a great spot in front of the castle for the ceremony. Stayed till midnight and went on almost every ride many times there were no waits at all that night, most people left early.

I was on the east coast at work. Still, I got to see it on TV. I was stunned at the amount of coverage Fox News gave it!
