As the 50th celebration comes to an end, I was just wondering how many people were there on DL's actual 50th anniversary? I drove 800 miles to be there for that special day. I didn't wait in DCA that night, but my parents and I were among the first people to be admitted to DL who weren't in DCA. We arrived around 6:15 am. I waited in line 8 hours for pins and special merchandise. We met a lot of interesting peole in line. It was just a fun day (although the cupcakes did get old after a while...) My dad and I watched the dedication cermony on a screen outside IASW whie my mom held our place in line. All of us saw Walt Disney's rededication speech rebroadcast exactly 50 years later. Even though we were tired, we chose to stay until closing at midnight, just to squeeze in more rides on this happy day.
Were you in DL on July 17, 2005? What does this day mean for you. Feel free to share your memories of that day as I did.
