Some "Official" info in regards to the Red Carpet Event

Let me share an e-mail I sent to one of the Media reps for Walt Disney Pictures....

Many folks online have been asking about details on the Red Carpet
event, and I have yet to see an official answer.

Most of the answers are presumptions from the first Pirates event.

We know that the park closes to "regular" park guests at 5 PM, but some
of the lands (such as Fantasyland and Tomorrowland) are staying open
until about 8 PM for those folks who have entered Disneyland by 5 PM.

So will "regular" park guests be allowed to watch the Red Carpet event
from at least parts of the Red Carpet along Main Street?

If so, do you know when they will be allowed to start saving seats?....
    (OK, really the curb)

What time is the actual Red Carpet event?

I saw the Microsoft (and now Disneyland Resort) Press Release about the
live MSN Webcast, they are claiming they are broadcasting from 7 to 8:30
    PM PDT.

A lot of fans would love to get some "straight" answers to these
questions, so any help would be appreciated.

The red carpet will start at about 6pm. MSN is doing a 90 minute live broadcast. The carpet is going to last for longer than 90 minutes, so that's the time they chose.

Last week's CM Reference Guide (June 16-22) states...

    June 24 Operations Update

Park hours have been revised to:

    Disneyland Park: 6:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.*

*Fantasyland, Main Street U.S.A., Mickey's Toontown and Tomorrowland will remian open until approximately 8 p.m.
So basically so long as you are in the park before 5 p.m. (or when they reach capacity), you can enjoy the east side of the park or watch the Red Carpet event.

I'll be there at 5:45am and I have a Premium. I don't expect a line through DCA like the 50th, but it'll probably be worse than last year due to how popular the original movie was.

You know that is a good question will people be able to get black out date tickets since it is a special event? I have a Premium pass so it does not really matter for me but it would be good for those who dont have it to know.

Last time wasn't too bad crowd wise, but it wasn't part of the 50th.....

As for Blockout tickets, more than likely yes...

But let me state, Saturday's Maximum capacity is lower than normal, since parts of the park will be closing around 2 PM (west side) and some areas are closed (less room). So Disney will be watching the numbers closely, and if needed, go to their game plan when the park is getting close to capacity. Those included the signage at the parking lots "Disneyland is Very Busy", flyers when you pay for parking, and the restriction on ticket sells.

The first stage of this plan has Disney stop selling One-Day tickets, and Blockout Passes are one form of one-day tickets.

So if you really want to go, I would get to the park early.

Wow, good question! I think that usually they open the parking structures and lots 1/2 before the park opens.

I can't get there until about 1:30... I was hoping there would be some MCers that I could meet up with but it doesn't seem likely since I can't get out of anything until then! Ugh. I'll still be showing up, but have fun if you get to hang out and see all the action!
