Question Mice Quest Coincides w/ new "Million Dreams" opening...Good or Bad?

We are thinking about coming out for the MiceQuest on Sept 30 and I noticed that the new Year of a Million Dreams promo is scheduled to kick off on Sunday October 1.

My questions for my fellow Mice chatters are:
    A. Are the parks unusually crowded when a new promotion kicks off?
    B. Will there be shortened park hours/extra closures that weekend as DL prepares the new promo displays/etc, (or is there a soft opening the week prior to October 1??)

We were thinking about coming Friday-Saturday (from PHX) but I am thinking Sat/Sunday in the parks would be fun if the new million dreams event is in full swing.

    Thanks!

Things can change, but at the moment there really doesn't seem to be a huge build for this "Million Dreams" campaign, certainly not like the event that announced the 50th, a year ahead of time.
The park may be mildly busier, but...eh.

the only place I've seen the promo for these dream thing is on the internet.
    I haven't seen t.v. promo's.

You can go to disneyland.com and click on calendar.
It will give you hours of operation.

As far a a soft opening.
Since it's not a ride, there should be none. They make take pre press picture from now until then...but I wouldn't hold out on getting something before that date.

To that end I'd like the Internet community to join me in reminding the Disney company that "it all started with Walt." As you can see below we've created some T-shirts, plus a few simple graphics that you can copy and paste into your websites to let folks know how you feel.
