Personally, I love the 50th decorations. They are classy, beautiful, and really highlights the park's major icon. The normal castle seems so dull in comparison.

I understand if they take the banners and crowns down... it only does justice to the original. But I really do think they should think of going a shade darker with the paint so it doesn't fade away so much.

Awwww, just throw a purple sheet over it for a few months - then no one will care what it looks like, just as long as the sheet is gone!!!

Will trade husband for Disneyland and DCA Pins!

Re: Princess Aurora's castle after the 50th

We haven't really known an undecorated painted castle for a long time. We got a quick glimpse right before the 50th, but other than that it's just been the bleached castle from the Pressler era and the gold-decorated castle from the Ouimet era.

I'm kind of curious to see what an undecorated and painted castle looks like again.

I miss the was the castle looks without the bling. The castle is beautifully proportioned and needs to be returned back to it's normal self. Don't get me wrong, the bling is beautiful but it is only for the 50th. Could you imagine if they had left WDW's castle a pink birthday cake?

To the one asking is it the Sleeping Beauty castle yes. I don't like calling her Sleeping Beauty. I like calling her Princess Aurora. To me Sleeping Beauty is the name of the movie but not the princess. So that is why I said Princess Aurora's castle.

On my map, I'll be sure to scratch off "sleeping beauty castle" and put Princess Aurora

Re: Princess Aurora's castle after the 50th

I think the crowns should be SAVED and not sold on EBAY but rather be placed either in the Opera House lobby or somewhere safe. Why on Earth would Disney sell those? Disneyland only turns 50 once. And 100 years from now those crowns will be sorely missed.

But going back to the castle, I wouldn't mind SOME things to say. The paint job is wonderful but the pink could be toned down JUST A BIT.

It looks a bit too much without all the crud covering it up.

Hey they may just auction off the crowns, but I agree it would be better to keep them somewhere where they can be displayed. That would be one nice Disney souvenir....lol.

Eh, I wouldn't be surprised if they did just that.

This is the one thing that ticks me off about Disney.
