    Storybook Land Canal Boats-always closed?

Every time I go to Disneyland I never seem to get the oppertunity to go on this attraction. I only remember going on it once. I'd just like to know if anybody has any knowledge of special opening and closing times for this attraction? Thanks!

Yes. We went on it twice this week, once during the day, and once at night. Because of the parades, they close this attraction one hour before each parade, and I believe also during fireworks. So it's only open from 8am to 2:15 p.m., and then again from 3:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and then after fireworks.

As with much of fantasyland, it really helps to go on the first hour, or the last hour, of the day, but the multiple closures helps you get into a line that hasn't had time to build up, if you time it right.

I prefer the ride at night - the lighting in the miniature houses is very clever. And if you have the right skipper, you might get a "jungle cruise" type narration ... always good for a laugh.

This attraction has the worst line I think. It moves painfully slow so the best time to go on it is the first thing in the morning or towards closing time.

Sounds like you have plans to turn the attraction into the "Storybook Land Love Boats."

    Haha yeah I wish

Well the thing is that he used to refuse to go on the ride with me. He kept saying that he would sink the boat. He's 6'4, but he's not fat by any means. And I'm not going to go on a ride by myself and we always go together, so in order for me to ride he's going to have to come with me lol.

Yeah, those boats can handle a lot of mass ... your boyfriend is not going to "sink the boat", no way.

    But I want to.

The lines don't get too long during the afternoon do they?

They sure do! With the slow loading and few boats, this can be a long line, especially in the afternoon.

I don't trust you two when you enter the mouth of Monstro the Whale. You'll turn it into a blubbery Tunnel of Love. they might have to sink your boat.

A good time to go on this ride is right after the parade when they first open it back up. We happened to be walking through Fantasyland one time just after the parade had ended and followed the CM all the way through the queue and onto a boat.

But I really recommend first thing in the morning--once we even had our own boat--that was kind of weird. And all the ducks are still sleeping throughout the ride--so cute.

Yeah, I agree. Nightime is the best!

    Very cool lighting effects.

    Enjoy!
