Went to Disneyland yesterday because it was our last time to go before our passes get blocked out til August!!! I'm not sure I'll be able to make it. But anyway, it's not nearly as interesting as other photo updates, but I thought I'd give it a shot.
So here we go:
We got there around 5:00pm and strangly enough, there was barely a line for the tram!
most of you have probably seen this already, but I thought it was a pretty cool poster.
there were a lot of empty trams, at least 4 that I saw...
these pictures makes it look busier than it actually was. The bag-check lines were short, and the bag-checkers were really nice.
We started out at DCA and the lines didn't go out past the "CALIFORNIA" letters. On the other side, Disneyland's lines were about 3 times as long as DCA's
DCA, was empty on Friday at 5:20, I feel really sorry for the park. It doesn't get all that much love and it was such a well-intentioned park. Oh well, it still has time to grow...
25 minutes for Soarin?!
yes...yes we were.
After soarin, we headed toward GRR because it was hot...Well, I guess that everyone had the same idea. It was a 45 minute wait. By the time we got to the loading area, it wasn't all that hot anymore...of course.
after that, we walked down San Fran. That area just seems like a waste of space, they should at least add a few shops in those (empty?) buildings...
We sat there, rested, and snacked on some chips we brought. Then, it was off to Disneyland. We wanted to get there before DCA closed to beat the closing rush.
On our way back I saw this:
GRR was stopped (as you can clearly see). I was happy that we got to ride before this happened, but I felt sorry for those people who were headed for cold water splashes, while we were headed for the Happiest Place on Earth.
Got to DL around 8:15, the lines to get into the park went just a little past the monorail track, but it went by fast. Inside the park wasn't horribly, shove-and-push busy. But there were quite a few people.
We were all hungry, so we headed over to New Orleans Square to get some Dinner.
On the way there, I saw Cafe Orleans open. I don't know if you guys knew it was open, but I got this bad shot anyway.
We ate at the French Market, the food was delicious!
I had the Riverfront Fettucini(sp?) with salad, mmmmm....
We headed to the Mansion after dinner to see the new spirit in Madame Leota's scene. I think it's really cool, but weirdly placed.
I also noticed, what I thought was new, in the graveyard scene. On your left side, there are 2 moseleums and in the second one there is now an eerie figure standing there. It had the look of the Grim Reaper, but it isn;t an AA just a simple...*coughpaintingcough*
Sorry, I have no pictures. We forgot our camera.
My little brothers wanted to ride Thunder Mountain, so we headed that-a-way. We were hoping to get a ride on Pirates but we saw this...
No line?! Could Pirates possibly have died down already? Let's go!
Alas, no. The ride was just "temporarily" closed. But we passed that area a few times and it stayed closed...I apolagize for the darkness of these pictures.
Thunder Mountain was a 25 minute wait, not to bad.
headed back down Adventureland to Tomorrowland
took this picture of the Castle.
We didn't ride any rides. Buzz was 45 minutes, Star Tours was closed, and Space Mountain was 60 minutes, Autopia was the shortest line in tomorrowland believe it or not with a wait time of 35 minutes, it takes the gold.
We did go to the hatmosphere to get my brother his first pair of mickey ears. The ladt said that they would to only use computers to embroider the hats, and that te ones that are hand-done would be very special. I'll miss the hand-done ones, because every hat had a different type of writing, and if they're all done by computer, they might all look the same.
Now! It's time for a whole bunch of Small World pictures!!!!
Last time I saw this, it was in really bad shape. I'm glad it's takin care of now.
I really want one of these!
Finally, it was closing time. We went to the Mad Hatter to get me one of those Pirate Ears.
While we were in there, all of a sudden, all of Mainstreet went dark, then the store did, too. It was really weird. The CM's behind the counter were all "Hey, who's playing with the lights?"
Then we left...Very sad. The tram lines were really bad. Sheesh, we got in line around 1:00am and left the station around 1:45 am.
Well, I hope my update was OK. I know it's not nearly as interesting as other's. But, it was my first time. Sorry it was so long, too. I gotta go, See you all around!
