Look at where the 1995 Disneyland Railroad coaches are at!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uFjVV...neyland%201955

Its located somewhere at a place called "Santa Margarita"

They are using the Exact, The Original, The Only Stage coaches that carried the passangers from 1955 to 1960 around the Disneyland railroad. Everything is original as seen in the video and has not been touched but they are doing a little re-furb now.

Santa Margaritia is on the California coast, near San Luis Obispo (about half way between San Francisco and LA).

The cars are indeed original, but a couple quick corrections:

    They're not "stage coaches;"

They were used into the 1970s--just not very often.

You can still see one of the cars from the original passenger train. It's still at Disneyland, and it's called the Lilly Belle. If you want to catch a ride on the original coaches, the ranch where they operate is opened up yearly in early May, for a small charge. There is food, entertainment, and the Retlaw 1 cars, pulled behind any of three operating steam locomotives (including one built by former Imagineer Bob Harpur).

Santa Margarita--not to be confused with Rancho Santa Margarita in South Orange County.

Lore, thanks for posting that link; you beat me to it.

Barfonz, you need to check the site more often, or you miss out.
There were discussions here on MC about it a few months ago, as you can see, though I never heard a trip report from those that had planned on going (I didn't get to...).

That was a cool video. It reminded of this place I went to as a kid. You would ride on a train and it would get robbed and the sherriff and the robbers would have a gun battle. It was pretty cool. The place was in Michigan, but I can't remember the name. I'll try to find out and post it later.
