Only on video. And I can tell you that show is OK when compared to LACHSA performances.

Hasn't "Blast" played all over? I thought I remember a touring company of this production, or am I thinking of "Stomp"... ?

It would be nice to have something unique to Disney and unique to the park that isn't elsewhere, if so.

Ah, once again, A.D.D.'s post asks for Disney to remove a show (or parade) that hasn't been experienced in person...

    Just do ADD, not A.D.D.

What, it is true. I have seen quality shows and the Aladdin show just isn't *that* amazing.

The sets were awesome but I had a problem with mainly the two characters - Aladdin and Jasmine. Not only do they not look like them, they don't sing that great.

Everything else was fine though, but when your two starring roles aren't that good, well it kind of dampens the theatrical experience of it all.

And anywho, it's been playing too long at the Hyperion anyway. Time for something new and exciting!

I'm sorry to say, but disneys not going to invest all that money into a production for a short run... Plus, how do you expect them to looK EXACTLY like the cartoons? CARTOONS?!! It isn't meant for them to be EXACTLY like the cartoon, it's a live version, changed for the purpose of stage!

I never said exactly, but at least let them look similar. On Broadway, Belle isn't Chinese is she?

hahahahahahahahahaha THE WEEL CHAIR yeah that throws me off a little to but what the heck its all about diversity these days! not weather or not it makes sense or not. a really talented actor probably lost the part to her cuz they wanted to be "politically corect"

So people in wheelchairs couldn't be really talented actors?

I suggest that both factions in this thread put their heads together and invent the Flying Wheelchair. It is the only solution that will satisfy the masses.

Until it breaks down, of course. Then it will be evil. Just plain evil.

Ha ha. I was just thinking that there's probably a better way to work her into the show....put her on a camel, singing from a window, have her behind a booth selling something...etc. I LOVE the fact that they are using this singer in spite of her disability. It's the CHAIR that doesn't seem to quite fit. It is a VERY well themed chair, but it's an electric wheelchair in the middle of a story about Aladdin.

"Once upon a time, there was a boy named Aladdin who went down into the cave a wonders and found a lamp. After rubbing the lamp, a genie appeared and granted him three wishes. On his second wish, the genie made Aladdin into a prince, complete with an elephant, trumpeters, and a very nice lady in an electric wheelchair."

Am I being too un-pc to think that the electric wheelchair doesn't quite FIT in the story? Instead of CASTING her as a specific character, it looks as if they just dropped her 21st century, modern day chair into the story with her. I'm sure she's a wonderful singer, and I'm glad she got the part.
If it were a story about 21st century New York, and this singer was zooming around on stage as part of the crowd, that would seem to be more appropot.

And um....Ward? Verisimilitude: "In literature, the term denotes the extent to which the characters and actions in a work of fiction exhibit realism or authenticity, or otherwise conform to our sense of reality. A work with a high degree of verisimilitude means that the work is very realistic and believable; works of this nature are often said to be 'true to life'."
