    Submarine Voyage 2.0

When the Imagineers were designing the Submarine Voyage, it was planned to have real fish swimming about. The plan remained that even after the initial track and submarines were built and put into the lagoon. This is why you see bubbles before and after the loading station, because it was determined by experts that the fish would get trapped inbetween a submarine and the loading station, and die. However, Walt scrapped the plan because at the time they were building it, (with borrowed money from the bank), they woudlnt be able to afford constantly replacing dead fish

So the current plan with the Submarine lagoon is to put in "finding nemo". we can all complain about how incredibly stupid the idea of it is, but the bottom line is that it is good thing the subs will come back in some form.

But why does it have to be in this form?

Why couldnt they install these "plastic boxes", and instead of putting an animatronic 'nemo' in the box, why dont they put REAL FISH? Make it (somehow i dont know) accessible underground so you could feed them, or make it so divers could access them underwater, put fish food in a little box, which after it is closed it sucks all of the food and shoots it in the box full of fish.

    OR

Just put real fish in the water. Dont use chlorine, just use some other chemical that is fish-friendly that could help keep the water clean. If the ocean waters in tropical areas such as Hawaii are so clear (They have a REAL submarine there that takes tourists to see stuff chillin' on the ocean floor), why cant they just use real fish? Maybe even put a bunch of clown fish in so you could truely 'find nemo'

Yes, it would be possible to build big aquariums with real fish that the subs could cruise by... But boy would it be expensive! Would it be more expensive than all new animatronics? Don't know. But what would the show be? Disney usually prefers AA animals to real ones because they are easier to direct and fit into a story line (with the exception being DAK). Perhaps a combination of real fish and AA? Just blue skying here. I also don't like the idea of a Nemo theme... Not at all futuristic.

not big aquariums, just replace the animatronics with real fish. also, does anybody know if the boxes will Stick out of the water, or will it look the same it always has?

Okay, I have one question..... What the heck are these "boxes" everyone keeps talking about? Everyone keeps asking "Will we be able to see the boxes above the water?" I just don't get what these boxes are!

Maybe the reason they don't use real fish is that when one inevitably goes belly-up, it might kill the mood for any kids who happen to pass by before the CMs can remove the body?

To keep the Animatronica Dry... they are palced into Clear plastic/whatever boxes which will be inside the show building... they will extend out of the water to be maintaigned nightly and this way the aniamtonics will work and be 90% dry....

It is an innovative idea for the complex Animatroics being used on this ride...

but if they are contained to a small fish tank, no bodys would float up. i presume you are speaking of my other idea

I have to say, the whole Nemo thing is trouble, no matter how you slice it. If the whole ride was devoted to Nemo, it would be a dull ride. If people thought octopi eating sharks was boring, send them into the water to watch a clown fish... If they just put in a few show scenes, it'll be too Gummi Glen. Combining the original Sub Voyage and Nemo will be like combining oil and vinegar. Imagine being the poor guest who pays $200 for his family of four to get into the park, and realize this isn't a brand new ride at all. Nor is it the classic attraction we've all been waiting seven years to ride again. I'd hate to be in City Hall when that happens...

About the only real solution involving Nemo is just to have Ellen create a Dory narration and leave the show itself alone. It may not be as marketable, but just don't market it. Or build a clever local campaign and rely on that crazy new invention called the Internet to create a positive buzz. The fact is, Matt has proven through other programs that reductions in crowding leads to a better guest experience which leads to more guest spending. Bringing back the Subs doesn't have to be all about attracting new guests. It should be about providing a better experience to the guests who are already there.

No because they will be in the caves out of sight. They will not be installed outside in the view of the public.

Aaaaaaaaaaaah. Why must all new rides be based on Pixar cartoons? Nemo is a cartoon fish. He's Fantasy, not the future. There was no sub in the movie. It makes no sense. I say make it the best dang sub ride you can. Have giant sharks attack. Have a motion base on part of the track or on the sub to bounce things around. There's a lot of ways it could be a modern E-Ticket ride. A cartoon clown fish isn't one of them.
