We went annually when I was a kid from like 5-11 then I went two more times with my family, two times with friends and then I had my son and started going annually again. Until 2003 when we got our first AP's and went 4 times that year and last year we did 5 trips down.
I've also gone to WDW twice, once pre-kids and once with them. We're going back next year.
We used to go at least once a year as a kid, when my mom had lot'so money to waste on me. We did that til I was about 13. Then I would go with my dad every other year too, since they were divorced. I actually found a picture the other day of my trolley driver from the Marriott from when I was like 10. He was funny. I would say i have been to DL at least 25 times. I also have been to WDW twice, but we had a crappy time share there, and last time I went I was 12. I am 24 now. It's time to get down there again.....
My wife and I have been married for 33 years and we have 2 adult(?) daughters and 3 grandchildren. We first went the year we were married,(1972) and have returned at least once a year since with kids and grandkids. Our next trip will be this November for the 50th. We live in Northern California about 450 miles away, so rough calculations show 50plus excursions with some 45,000 miles driven to get there and back. (And YES, I would do it again.
Went once a year growing up (piggy bank here also), then quit going totally for about 15 years. For the past 2 years I've been going quite often. Now I go usually once a week, so no telling how many times I've been, can't get enough, nor do I think I ever will!
Mom, remember, it's not what a person is like on the outside that counts,
I don't really know.
I was 2, my first visit, and yearly during my childhood, (except 3 years in Japan, too bad Tokyo Disney wasn't there then). We go every year now for a week. We bought our first AP's this year, and will go for two weeks total. We either drive or fly down from Fairfield CA. (between Sacramento and San Francisco)
It makes me feel old to see how many attractions have come and gone since I started going. Space Mountain still seems like a new ride.
However, I haven't really been to the park very much except for four trips in the past 15 years. I know it's not just a location thing because I see people from the Bay Area who go a couple times a year and people from farther away who have visited more often than I am.
It has a little bit to do with income and a little bit to do with how I choose to use it. I'll buy a big-screen TV at a cost that could cover TWO trips to Disney and then sit around at home sobbing in front of the home movies playing on the new TV, wondering why I never get to go to the park.
We live in NorCal so although we go somewhat frequently, it's not
like some AP holders that live in SoCal. :-)
First time in 1976 with my parents. Next time was 1980 for Grad Night.
Went there four times in the 80s.
Went there twice in the early 90s.
Averaged 2 visits a year since my daughter was 2 (she's ten now) till two
years ago when my son was born. So we went 16 times with her.
We went with our two year old son last year.
So I guess the grand total so far is 23. We'll probably go sometime in the
summer for the 50th next.
I used to live in Monterey and southern Arizona between 1990 and 1998. I would say we we went at least twice a year when visiting my grandmother in southern California. So I would venture int he ballpark around twenty times. But I'll be sure to soak up every moment when I go this summer.
