    Lightbulb

Only one rocket is being tested right now, but it's a step.

More likely August for the opening, there's still a ton of work to do
and DOSH approvals are still pending.

    Egads, I hope not.

And please - - they have to have kept that signature space sound:

    Bwooo Bwooo Bwooo
    Bwooooo Bwooooo Bwooooo
    Bwooooooo Bwooooooo Bwooo Bwooo Bwooo

    You know the one

I guess I was most disappointed that they were using the exact same track layout. If you're going to gut it, do something better.

It's always bugged me knowing that Space Mountain used a rollercoaster named "The Mouse".

I am excited for its return. We rode it the day before it was closed. The next morning we went back to go and it was "temporarily" shuttered. That was 2 years ago. AS for the track, I'm glad they didn't add a loop. That would make the height restriction tougher and my kids couldn't ride it anymore for awhile. Not many roller coasters a 4 year old can ride with his dad, but that is one.

Update: Walls have been removed up by the Fastpass area and Main Entrance. A big blue tent now is over by the Fastpass area.

Are the rockets still going to be purple, as seen in a backstage photo?

This ride still exists? I thought they were tearing it down to make way for the Space Mountain Cafe and Gift Shop. Maybe instead of adding all new special effects they should add little trinkets you can purchase as you ride the coaster. I know that guests are so anxious to get to that gift shop at the exit, you might as well combine two great things into one.

While I haven't been to DLR to ride the old version of Space, I'm happy for you guys that you will soon be getting back the pinnacle of what is left of Tomorrowland. Have they hinted at what the design will be like? Will it include more turns, etc...?

    The Music

I don't really care if the track is different or not, I just hope they got the soundtrack situation worked out. It always drove me crazy when the music wasn't playing because the ride was so much more exciting with it. I hope it's a new one too, that would be really cool. I personally plan to be one of the first to ride the new Space Mountain as I have been longing beyond very very much so to ride it ever since it closed. It will also get some people away from Splash Mountain .
