Aladdin gets the Axe, no shows after September 10th

Checking the Disneyland.com Calendar of events, Aladdin will go dark after September 10th.

*GASP* That's really sad... they sure are cutting back on entertainment arent they? That's so sad... it was always my favorite part about visiting the parks... :o( But we still have Fantasmic!

All I can say is FINALLY. The only reason to go into that theatre for me is to escape the heat and take a nap, and the main room in the animation building is much prettier for that purpose. God how I hate that show.

Re: Aladdin gets the Axe, no shows after September 10th

That is sad. Aladdin was (imho) a well put together stage show. My entire family always made sure to watch it when we were there. I truly hope that they bring in something just as good or BETTER to replace it. I would be very disappointed if they let the theater sit dark for an extended period of time.

according to the Disneyland audition website...

Disney Entertainment Productions is holding Open Calls in Los Angeles and New York for singers, dancers and actors to perform in our Broadway-caliber, theatrical production of Disney's Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular. This show is performed in the state-of-the-art, indoor, 2000-seat Hyperion Theatre at Disney's California Adventure®. We are seeking performers with a strong ethnic look. Contract runs August 2006-April 2007.
Rehearsals begin August 28
