Smile The Disneyland Reality Show

ABC needs some new (cheap) entertainment. Lets design a Reality Show and pitch the idea!!!

Now I think they would frown on "The Day in the life on a CM" kinda show as they wouldn't want us to know these guys sometimes have bad days (sic).

Lets focus on a competition-style show with the typical 16 guests and 1 voted out style. SUrvivorisneyland??? Well, not so much endurance stuff.

(Is there a way the show can be filmed without anyone in the park even knowing there is a compitition? Think people...think!)

----
Of course, if this goes through, I am the originator of the intellectual property and as such want $$$$. (he he he --- Sorry Disney Corporate thought there)
----

So what can we come up with?

Re: The Disneyland Reality Show

I would so watch that!! Maybe the CM with the best record for entertaining or knowledge of the park would stay on. Kinda like they would get kicked off for poor attitude. Or secretly being tested on park history or knowledge.

so many things the past 10 years or so have turned into a compition, what is better DL or WDW.

DL and WDW are not survivor, we don't have to vote any one off the Island!

Talking Re: The Disneyland Reality Show

How about a race.....get two teams....have them go to Disneyland on July 4th.....the first team to go on all attractions and see all shows wins. They can do this by ANY means necessary.

On second thought.....don't most tourists do this already?

Thumbs up Re: The Disneyland Reality Show

How about a competition for designing a ride? Sort of like the Imagi-nation competition... and America chooses the winner and it's built at one of the theme parks. Then the viewing public will want to go to the parks to view THEIR ride... Talk about synergy!

Or a documentary about building a ride from concept to opening day? (Like Extreme Makeover: Tomorrowland Edition -- perhaps from the "winner" of the above show.)

I was really hoping the reality TV psychosis was on its way out.

While I freely admit that if it was 'Disneyland' related, I'd watch it, even I might steer clear of this after the pilot.

I pride myself on managing to avoid reality television as much as possible, and I'm not sure how it would work.

Maybe a day in the life of a CM. Or a Apprentice-style show that offered a promotion to a CM, but they had to perform a variety of tasks first:
- operate an attraction
- dress up in character
- Control a post-fireworks crowd in summer

You know, obvious stuff. They'd score points based on the entertainment value of their character performance; the cleanliness of their area; the efficiency of their ride control and so forth.

If they stuffed something up, they could always be punished with...

...THE WHIP OF DOLE!!! BWHAHAHAHAH!

(Oh look, sunlight...Loomis must go outdoors and see the sunlight).

You and me both...with rare exceptions, "reality" t-v shows are rarely "real" and almost always bore me to tears!

Re: The Disneyland Reality Show

I like the idea of a Disney reality show that is based loosely on Survivor, however, there definitely needs to be a physical endurance aspect to it. That is the fun of these shows, if you are not fit both intellectually as well as physically, then you are outta there.
We can't have someone that doesn't take care of themselves winning these shows, it promotes unhealthy lifestyles.

Re: The Disneyland Reality Show

I kinda liked the idea of "Disney Parks Today." It could be a newsmagazine, giving a wide variety of reports from the hosts from all of the parks. Gaming could be a segment, like finding hidden mickeys with special video cameras while the report went on. I believe the Disney Channel had something like this, with George Forman (of all people!) years ago.

Still, knowing us, we'd watch whatever it was and rip it to shreds daily.

Oh well!

Peace,
Roo

Oh my word, as much as I hate reality TV I actually LOVE your idea! Which is really a double compliment, you see. Extreme Makeover: Tomorrowland Edition.... I seriously think that would be the most amazing show ever. Except instead of Ty and them we'd get to see the real Imagineers doing it all.... Now I'm getting disappointed that this isn't really going to be on TV!

Re: The Disneyland Reality Show

I have to say I've told a few people about the show idea and everyone seems to love it -- even non-Disney 'nerds' like myself. Now who do I call to make this happen?...

Re: The Disneyland Reality Show

I can see it now! A reality show entitled "A Day In The Life Of A Cast Member" in which at the end of each show the CM is probably fired for all the bad things they would say about their employer! They could then get The Donald to do the famous saying and hand gesture in some Disney corporate boardroom set!
