Anybody know anything about them? what their going to look like (well..I've heard what their going to look like) and if I'm not mistaken their going to be one complete color w/ the classic pinestripe on the side, and their going to look like the old monorails but with a more streamline look...but does anybody know any of the little details / pics possibly? concept drawings? anything

im happy to hear that they're fixing / replacing them, i read a while back that they couldnt afford to fix em. the monorail is kind like a landmark, its almost like taking the DLRR away.

Go across the border from El Paso Texas and I have a feeling you will see the new monorail bodies under construction. The construction time frame was to fabricate the new bodies in August of 06, and construction will commence with the first monorail train late 06 to early 2007. I am afraid the old under carriage from 1968 will be used on the new trains, so they won't be 100% new. The undercarriage is a major expense and if WDI can get away with a nearly 40 year old part, they will do it. The trains should have a/c, new electronics and a better seating arrangement. They are only going to upgrade three of the monorail, one train will sit in storage somewhere. The reduced cost of using the old 1968 undercarriage is making this project possible on a limited budget.
their going down in sept. for 3 months while the remove "winners circle" the Autopia store, durring this time Autopia will be going down for 4 weeks while they change their exit so it exits about 50 feet closer to innoventions and not Winners Circle, Where Winners Circle is right now will be turned into the line for the subs (it all works out)
Do I understand that the "new" monorails are going to be on top to the "old", original undercarriage that has been running for nearly four decades? Don't you think we could get a completely new set of trains? Really new? How much could that cost? I mean gee just shave a little off the top of those exorbitant exec bonuses and there you go! If Disney could open up not only a brand new monorail line but also the Matterhorn and Submarines after just a few years of the Park's operation, you'd think that after fifty years there'd be enough capital to have a nice "retirement party" for those poor old tired workhorses on the beams. Heck, I bet they could pay for the whole thing by just siphoning off the profits from all of those $3 bottles of water and Cokes! LOL
