Birthday Perks at DLR?

I'm taking my good pal, Fancy, to DLR for her 24th birthday. I know she can get a sticker that let's everyone know it is her birthday, but I am unsure what other perks can be found on a birthday.

Can anyone share their DLR birthday perks? Any suggestions, tips would be great!

Yes, please tell...and also, does it have to be actually ON your birthday or could it be a couple of days after or before. We are taking my future Sister-in-Law for her birthday but her actual day is two days later.

Re: Birthday Perks at DLR?

I don't think it has to be the date of your actual birthday. I say that because they don't ask for ID, etc. to validate that it is your birthday. I think that they leave it up to people to be 'self-policing' and be honest.

IMHO, the best perk of all is going to the Tortilla Factory at DCA. If you have a birthday sticker, they give you a whole stack of tortillas.

I went with my friend Fer a few weeks ago and she got a B-day sticker even though it wasn't her birthday and first thing we did was the Tortilla Factory. She spent the rest of the day munching on tortillas as we walked around the park screaming "MASECAAAAA!"

Re: Birthday Perks at DLR?

Other than some CM's making a fuss over her ('cause she'll have her 'Birthday' sticker on), D/L doesn't do anything else. You can buy her a birthday 'event' over at the Plaza Inn, but that's really geared for the kindergarden set......

I try to go on my birthday every year and I did hear the turnstile computer punch out a "Happy Birthday' tune when the CM scanned my pass in, I thought that was clever, but only heard it once in the last 12+ years....

Isn't that kind of messed up to take advantage of Disney like that? I could be out of line, but it kind of steals a bit of magic to pretend it's your birthday, etc. If I were a CM and I thought that people were faking birthdays, it wouldn't motivate me to go out of my way to acknowledge their birthday or do something special for them.

Her real name is Frances, but her siblings couldn't say that, so they called her Fancy, which has stuck. She's a great person, and the name fits.

Re: Birthday Perks at DLR?

i dont think its bad to wear it when its not ur bday...though iv never worn one ever (birthday or no birthday)...but yeah there arent that many options for people over the age of ten...theres a cake making party with character appearances at plaza inn, a birthday in a can type thing with a pin and cake etc though the cake i hear makes u sick,...thats pretty much the ones i remember...u can set up an event if u wanna bring 100 people lol but thats prob not what u want...u can pretty much go to any resturant and set up for a cake to come (u pay for the cake and let the resturant know) and get characters to come lol thats all...theres more info on the website and other unofficial disney websites

That's one of my all-time favorite words. It's so much fun to say...FANCY!!

Re: Birthday Perks at DLR?

You can also get a phone call from Goofy at City Hall if it's your birthday. It's cute, but not amazingly cool.

And don't forget about 55,000 people all saying Happy Birthday or asking you what is that sticker for?

I got a pack of tortillas a few weeks ago, and it wasn't my birthday. Maybe it's just random, but if it's your birthday they make sure you get one?

Re: Birthday Perks at DLR?

Even the tortilla thing is not guarenteed. My oldest daughter didn't get the tortillas when we went for her Birthday.

In addition to the tortillas, I also got a free cookies and Pacific Wharf Cafe.

Re: Birthday Perks at DLR?

Sometimes you have to hang around the Factory to get your tortillas. They don't always see you right away.

For our daughters B-day we stood there watching the machine for about 5 minutes before they saw her sticker.
