i have a huge WDW map from before epcot was even invented... back when magic kingdom was the only park... its amazing to look at, (not a sign of sticth anywhere... yay ) and the picture of goofy looks so different... well it still looks the same but there is a nostalgia look to him, i think that he was drawn differently then.

My oldest things are a souvenir book from '59, a cell with background from Sleeping Beauty and two ticket books with many of the ride coupons intact.

The 1955 color guidebook that has no photos but is filled with the concept artwork. The 55 pamphlet that was given out at the front gate....and a stack of postcards that are from the same time.....(fun things like the large color postcard of the castle with dirt around it)

Anyway, these have all been in an album and are in nice shape.......

I have a stuffed Cheshire Cat that my mom bought for me at DL when I was 10 years old. 16 years later, it's pretty ratty but I still love it.

    Oldest Souvenir?

I have a copy of the Disneyland's Opening Day insert for the L.A. Times...an old rubber Mickey Mouse (he's been in storage forever...so he could be dust by now...), and a small sterling bar pin of Mickey and Minnie in the original box.... I haven't seen my collection for a long time ~ this is THE project for this summer - get it all out, photograph the stuff and make an "Everything Disney" memory album!

I have a haunted mansion secret chinese puzzle box. its in the shape of a brick with the haunted mansion illustration on the top. you push a little sliver of wood on the side, and then that wall slides down, and the top slides to the right to reveal a compartment, then the left side slides up about halfway to reveal a drawer. its hard to explain, but its old, and from disneyland. haha.

I don't really have anything besides pictures. *But*, my wife (born the same year that the park opened), grew up here in the San Fernando Valley. A few miles from here, in her mother's garage, can be found old trunks overflowing with memorabilia from the early days of Disneyland. At least that's how I envision it; I know I've seem old guidebooks, souveneir newspapers, that sort of thing. There's probably atleast a few items from 1955 in there somewhere, ageing slowly.. slowly.

The oldest souvenir I have is a perfect ticket book that was never used from the 60s. The next one would be the 1967 grad nite program.

    Disney Momentos

It is nice to see all the Disney items everybody has. Let's pool them together and open a museum! That way all the pieces could be displayed properly and in a dust free environment. I have various ticket books from the 60's. And I also have a map of Tom Sawyer's Island (60's?). It was handed out as people went over to the island I think. I can't really remember, I was under ten at the time.
