Heck, my mom isn't a MiceChatter, and told me that out of everything she loves about DIsneyland, she wishes most that the PeopleMover was back. She said she loved the Tron part.

And also ATIS. But she just wants that back because she said it was a good makeout ride, hahaha.

I remain skeptical... but very hopeful. It would truly be excellent to have a new Peoplemover put in place there. Especially if they used all that incredibly happy music they had before.

This would truly be cause for celebration - - Please Matt and Jay, sign the budget papers and make it so! Why not finalize it before the big announcement next week!!!

Wonder what kind of timeline this would be on?

I fail to see why everyone is so excited about this. The people mover was a DULL ride.

^ many people also call it's a small world a dull attraction, but regardless of what they say I still had many fond memories of the Peoplemover.

It wasn't suppose to be exciting, just an example of future technology. What it turned out to be was a place for people to relax or make out. It was definitely a people eater. It always had lines.

Merlinjones, I would expect a timeline to be that a new PEoplemover would probably open in like summer 2007. I doubt they can have it ready much sooner than two years, since they'll need to refit the track (or would they juse use the old Rods tubular rail)?

Maybe in 1969. And I didn't mean that because it isn't a thrill ride that its dull. It was just dull. I rode its cousin in MK last year, and was reminded why it was so dull.

Ok, so its better than nothing, but still, why get so excited? Its about as interesting as the subway at the Denver Airport.

so the peoplemover was a bit before my time.....i've heard alot of talk about how it should be brought back and such....my question is, what did it look like/what did it do/where did it go? any sites have some old photos and info on it? i agree any new life being brought back into tomorrowland would be a great thing....even a past ride

I believe that the excitement has more to do with the fact that Disney management is finaly responding to its customers (us) and admitting to and actually fixing past mistakes. That is reason to celebrate!

You can experience Kevin Yee's totally cool and retro video of the Peoplemover as it existed in 1994:

(You can also hear that groovy happy music there, too!)
