    Popcorn Mickey

Here are some more shots of the Food Network event yesterday. Enjoy!

Stepping into DCA, this sign greeted us

Maybe these "Junior Chefs" know the way?

Looks like we are on the right trail

The trail leads us to here, the Bay Amphitheater

Look Ma, I could be on TV

Promotional Sign advertising the Event. Remember the Week of October 9th

    Another warning sign

    Another Food Network sign

These banners were everywhere, hope you enjoy the new Disney Parks logo. It's here to stay for a while

    Handouts they were giving everyone

So this is what they are calling it

Mickey's coming along nicely at around 3:30 PM

I wonder if they chose this location for a particular reason? Hmmmmm

Is he trying to give me the finger?

Hey, how did this get past security?

Man is this a messy job

This pile just doesn't seem to get any smaller

Kids, look away, this might ruin the "Disney Magic"

    Chef surveying the sculpture

Time is wasting. Better hurry up.

    Warming up the crowd

    Coming along nicely

    Attaching the ears

    Nice hat

    "Why I oughta..."

    Will they finish in time?

Interesting and very different. Wonder what it tastes like?

    Did it break the record?

Did this banner really unfurl? Even I do not know. Just have to tune in to the Food Network the week of October 9th to find out.

Mom, remember, it's not what a person is like on the outside that counts,
it's what they are like in their HEART!

Overheard while taking the first photos, people were saying that the original glue was supposed to be caramel. However, due to heat (and humidity) the caramel bonds would weaken and could cause the sculpture to fall apart. What they ended up using was a gelatin mixture, which would hold up throughout the day.

Mmmmmm, gotta love me some of that popcorn flavored jello!

He looks like a giant rice krispy treat!! I absolutely love this show!!! Except that they always show it around 10 at night and it causes the worse cravings.

I am still laughing over the chain saws. Did you ever think you would see a chain saw at Disneyland or DCA?
