DL purchasing Scottish garb

I play with a pipe & drum corps in Canada. This weekend I was at a highland games where an acquaintance of mine who runs a Scottish outfitter & supply store told me (knowing that I'm a Disney nut) that he just sold several dozen sporrans to Disneyland. (For those who don't know what a sporran is... it's a pouch made of leather, fur or horsehair worn on a chain around the waist of a person wearing a kilt.) They can cost a fair bit too - upwards of $100 for a day sporran and upwards of $200 plus for an evening or military sporran.

I am really curious as to why Disneyland would be buying sporrans (they wouldn't tell him.)

Any guesses?

P.S. I doubt it's for IASW as they were adult sporrans - which would be too big and awkward for a child.

Isn't there a pipe and drum corp at Epcot. The Enlish area. Could be for them.

Maybe Off Kilter (Epcot Canada band and local Florida group) are expanding their territory?

And there's that awesome Celtic Rock group in Canada--"Off Kilter" too.

I am, in fact, looking for a kilt to do Highland Games here next month. Does your friend have a website?

Peace,
Roo

Don't the tour guides wear kilts? I kid, I kid. Actually, it could be for many reasons, including the new "knight" experience and shop that's going to be opening.

From the MiceAge Al Lutz Update (available at this link):

"Oddly, the opposite side of the facility will have a similar setup for little boys, where they will be offered the chance to be made into Knights. Somehow though, there probably aren't going to be a lot of little boys willing to put up with all of that nonsense unless they're allowed to actually use a jousting stick to whack their little sister standing on the other side of the stage."

I doubt it's for the knight thing.

On the other hand, the holidays are not far and aren't we theoretically getting a new Christmas parade (finally)?
