Thanks for sharing her "special" day with all of us! Great pics! Been to Napa Rose once and it was fantastic.....Didn't bring Wolfette, since we wanted to eat at the bar, and needed an evening to ourselves (she would have been bored to death). Didn't even know they had a kids menu. Thanks for that tid bit.

We had the Fixed Price Menu and a bottle of wine....Total cost around $240.00, but well worth it! Being at the bar we got the Main Chef to experiment with a couple of dishes and we were the Guinea Pigs! It was great fun!

Can hardly wait for a return trip, but I think we'll still leave the Wolfette behind.
Mom, remember, it's not what a person is like on the outside that counts,
it's what they are like in their HEART!

Thanks for sharing your wonderful evening out. Happy Birthday to Mrs. Froggy. I loved the the last 'happy family' and the smeared chocolate birthday greeting. Definitely gave me a chuckle.

My only question is "Why are you ALL wearing white shirts?" It looks like you were supposed to be serving the food instead of eating it. Ok, I just couldn't help myself. :o) Cheers!

Well, I've actually never eaten at the Blue Bayou. It was closed for refurbishment since I got my So Cal pass, and then it's been blocked out since then, so I can't directly compare.

I can tell, you, however, that the dessert options - all of them, at the Napa Rose were delicious and well presented. The kids menu prices are reasonable, I think. The cheese pizza you see pictured there was $7.00, but that includes a drink, and was a large size.

You can see a kids menu online at this site (click here).

Why the white shirts? Because our shift at Storytellers Cafe had just ended! Damn those child labor laws...

    Thanks!
The prices were high, but not too bad. As I posted above, the kids meal was $7.00. You might not be able to see the menu picture too well, but the entrees were each around $28 or so.

We had a few appetizers, dessert, we each had a soup or salad, and I tried about five different wines, so we went all out on this dinner, but even then, we came out around $200 or so, including tip, tax, and minus the annual passholder discount.

You can see an older menu from Fall, 2005, at this link, or an even older one at this link, or one that was very close to the menu we had at this link, for some ideas on pricing.

PS- tell your wife that she does NOT look 30. Whatever she is doing for her skin care, she should keep that up 'cause it works!

Got a little sun and played with the kids in the pool. It was nice and relaxing. Hectic starts on the 21st!

Seriously though, your dinner looks awsome. I have never had duck before. Sounds like that's the place to try it.

I've made duck before as a chef and for personal dinner guests, and it wasn't done as well as this was. Very delicious. I highly recommend this place for you, Neon Cactus, and the kids!
