That's odd, since I have been on the ride hundreds of times since it opened, and only started noticing that smell in the past few months. Maybe I'm pregnant

No! How could this be happening to my favorite attraction at Disneyland? The 3 door effect (believe it or not) is my favorite part of the ride along with the Hall of Promise.

By the way, I really enjoyed your commentary Sadako. Great job filming the murals too!

Re: Even more problems with Indiana Jones Adventure - Chamber of Destiny is now Broken

All attractions at Disneyland have a set limit at which they will cycle out the line for show effects malfunctioning. (Cycle out meaning you don't admit more people but you let everyone who's already gotten into the line once the call is made ride.) If there is a safety issue, that's when rides are shut down immediately.

Here is why Indy will not be scheduled for a rehab anytime soon:
1) It had a fairly lengthy downtime two years ago (yay for station gates!)
2) If you want the subs to be even remotely nice and not one giant rat room, that's where most funding is going to be allocated for the next few months.
3) Attractions such as Mansion, that are getting an update, and others that are in need of changes for safety purposes will come first.
4) As APs and regular Disneyland attendees, these flawed effects really stick out and bother you. If you're a family from Nebraska who has saved for months and is making their first and only trip to Disneyland, and you go through the middle door and Mara says you seek the future, you aren't going to flip out. You're going to be amazed by how cool the ride system is and being ecstatic that you just got to ride such a cool ride. There's no way they would schedule an extended closure for Indy during the offseason.

Those are pretty much the reasons, in order.

And what exactly are you trying to say about people from Nebraska? Are you saying we are all amazed just to see your fancy indoor toilets and houses that don't have hitches? Maybe riding in something that does not have a bailer attached to it will give us a great thrill? Do you think we will be looking for the gun rack on the jeeps and commenting on how they go faster than Earnhardt Jr. at Talladega on Sunday? Is that what you are trying to say?!?! Just kidding, I would love to be at Disneyland right now on the IJ attraction, broken down and all!

Well I think it sets the atmosphere of the ride...how many things worked perfectly in the 1930s? lol

Yeah, it is time for a refub, but like RR Guy said, Matterhorn does need it more. Though I think Indy should be pretty high up after Matterhorn. Last year we rode it 5 times and it stopped all 5 times at the boulder and again at the final AA.. total silence and no movement for about 30-60 seconds each time. Last month, we rode it a bunch without a single hitch at all. Though the ride was MUCH rougher than I remember it ever being. Perhaps we got one of those random really rough ride sequences. It really is such a very complex ride. I'll bet it takes a lot to fix it.

Thanks! Now I know where the rat room effect from Indy went!

Indiana Jones and the Darkened Chamber of Doom - Day 4

The Chamber of Promise is still in complete darkness and the only door that seems to be working is the left on. The worst part of the darkness is that you can see the light through the door from the Chamber the jeep in front of you is going through. The last Indy AA is hard to be seen now because he seems to be completely leaning to the left. Kinda like a Leaning Tower of Indy. Take a look:

Exclamation Re: Even more problems with Indiana Jones Adventure - Chamber of Destiny is now Broken

I went on the 7th of this month & was shocked when in the queue both the rope & the bamboo stick were missing & not working (I almost put my arm out of socket trying to shake it). I was trying to impress my friend who didn't know about the effects & was completely mortified when they didn't work (he thought I was making it all up). We got the "beauty" room (I think it was on the right?- I could be wrong). Also, the "rat room" was completely dark! BTW, isn't that the room that has the "Eeyore" parking sign. I looked everwhere for it when we went & couldn't seem to rememeber where it was. Hope they can get it refurbed. It needs it BAD!

Regardsarama,

Jon

Re: Even more problems with Indiana Jones Adventure - Chamber of Destiny is now Broken

man.. myspace pages are the worst things EVER.

I'm sitting on that page right now.. and for minutes there is audio or a video playing that I can't even find where it is.. so playing the other videos on the page are pointless because I can't find this one that is auto-playing ruing audio for the others.

ok.. finally found it.. audio track under the indy picture in the text part of the page.

Great for all the info.. but myspace pages have GOT TO GO. that place is wretched

I blame this on the ride spiel that they force you to watch now. Before this set up the line moved at a fairly decent pace and everyone got a chance to see all the effects as the pased them. Now with the Speil the line is either at a stand still or moving at a frantic pace. When people are quickly walking past these things they have to get there tugs or pulls in quick and end up using too much force.

I wish they would go back to the old way and also remove the pointless fast-pass.

well today when I went on it at like oh 10 something the ride was working better than I have seen it in a long time and the chamber was lit.... the indy AA was standing up you could see him and he was not shakin like crazy and the ball was working too.... when I went a couple of weeks ago the ball was stuck out and not moving that was a shame.... today may have been a fluke though...

That is called a station backup and that's why the cast members working that day work there and not at thunder.
