So, does anyone have any news of the new Disneyland President appearing at DL, yet?

I think for his safety, he better stay at home.
Call him Ed, he probably likes it when people call him Ed.
And Ed can be nothing more than a figurehead as long as the current top management is in place. Much like Matt Ouimet, he's more of a middle-management to relay the demands of top management (Rasulo/Weiss) down to the workers at Disneyland. So any hope of Disneyland radically changing or becoming any better rests on the fate of the highest Disney theme park management, Ed's not going to be able to make a big difference whether he's another Ouimet or not. As sparkling as Ouimet got the park in recent years, it was still in dire need of TLC for a MUCH longer time than Ouimet stayed. It's going to take a decade or two of Ouimet-style TLC to get Disneyland back where it was in 1995, and under the current upper management, that just isn't going to happen any time soon.

I agree with you to a certain extent on that, Athlonacon, but the President can still influence the DL resort, positive or negative, and don't underestimate personal charm. Certainly, the new president will be comparred to his immediate predescesor: Will he spend a considerable amount of time in the resort, stay/live at the Grand Californian for extended periods of time, relate well to cast members? among other questions. BUT the big question so far is WHEN will the new president of the DL resort be at the resort be making his 1st appearance? You only get one chance to make your 1st appearance. And for someone who has been with the Disney Company for so many years, with very little seen or heard from him, in a position that is very public, makes one wonder what the heck he IS doing. Starting off by wondering WHERE he is in the first place is not a good place to start.
