Was there a "Goth" event at Disneyland today?

Ok so I'm not trying to be stereotypical or offensive or anything; but I'm just curious. Today I went to Disneyland (I'm going to post a picture thread later) and there were quite a few, well many more than a few, "Goth" people at Disneyland. You literally couldn't go anywhere without seeing someone similarly dressed in time spans of 5 seconds. Were there any sort of events concerning them today? I found it interesting to see the mass groups flocking to Disneyland all on a certain day. It was actually entertaining. Some of the ladies had beautiful dresses and makeup.

I went last year this time and about one fifth of the park was filled with 'goth' people. I guess the more politically correct thing to say would be that it was filled with people wearing all black. I asked one of them and they explained that it was Goth Day (or Bat's Day). It's an annual even they have where they all to go Disneyland. I believe it's every last Sunday of August.
There's a thread on Goth Day too. Not sure how to find it though...

I went last year and the year before but prep for the wedding kept me away.

Given that I almost got heat stroke from wearing a black pirate coat in 100+ weather.

It is a lot of fun though. I love seeing how people dress their kids for the day. Some of them are so cute.
I will save the princess, though I do not know the way.

Last year was the first time I went and the first time I had ever heard of it. I had the greatest time. It is so much fun seeing all the creativity in some of these people clothes. I love going and I cant wait til next year!

I was there today too, and now i'm glad to know what was going on. Some of the things these guys wore were really cool, but I know they had to be so hot in all the black. The umbrellas were a smart idea!

Yesterday we saw a couple of kids who were really decked out. The boy had a great mohawk and the girl's hair was hot pink. They were about 10-12 years old. I'm so glad my daughter wasn't there, becasue I know she'd start begging to dress like that all the time!

I was standing right next to those kids and their mom during the group shot. Funniest thing I ever heard said.... the boy with the mohawk was fussing and wanted to go somewhere, saying he was dying of boredom, and the mom said, "We're taking the group photo right now, you can die of boredom later!"

    How apropos...

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

I love it! I'm going to have to remember that one!

We saw the kids running up Tarzan's Treehouse while we were eating dinner at Riverbelle. They looked like they were having a blast, so I'm pretty sure no one died of boredom.

I find it hilarious that people are concerned with the "politically correct" term for the Bats Day folks...

...So, anybody got any pics of these black-clad crowds? I want to taste their sadness.

You won't taste any of that. They were at Disneyland, the cure-all for sadness. Any and all sadness was faked. Fake sadness doesn't taste very good.
