    Season of the Vine...ever open?

I for one love this movie (movie in DCA seen less then anything else) but it seems it has not been open in many many moons. Has anyone seen this open recently?

If you are reading this and have no clue what I am talking about take a look around the web it is a nice little attraction.

I've never seen Seasons of the Vine. A handful of times I've actually cared (or been bored enough) to check it out, it's been closed. Not sure that I've EVER seen it open.

I tried to see this the first time during Food and Wine weekends. They were doing tastings and said it was closed.

After F&W weekends were over, it was open, and it was a nice presentation -- very informative host, and the film is just beautiful. The theater, all made out of wine cask oak, is also gorgeous. We were the only two people in there - it's too bad that this is not better attended.

I'm going to go with Froggie on this one. I loved this short film. The introduction of the Cm, who opens the doors while the film starts...giving the feeling that you are looking out over your own fields. The oak casks to either side of you.

And the glass of wine you can bring in with you. There were tastings as you exited as well. Very nice.

This was, however, in 2001. Right before I quit drinking.

When we went back recently, it was closed.

    Peace,

This sounds like a great attraction and it has never been opened when I attend DCA. Thanks for the info on the movie in case I'm unlucky to ever catch it!

Yeah, I heard it was a nice short film, and went to go see it, and it was closed, I waited in the area, and everybody looked at me funny and the cast member just stared, and I thought people were just still in the theater...

Ask any Cast Member working in the wine area. I've found all I usually have to do is ask to see it and someone walks over with you and admits you to the theater for your (usually) own private showing.

They should have had the presentation running during the festival. The film has a great score by Bruce Broughton and the Jeremy Irons narration is educational in an interesting way.

Perhaps Disney should conduct more of the wine and essence tastings in the Barrel Room, itself, to make "Seasons of the Vine" more of a full-fledged experience.

Yeah, just like Opus said...it's kind of a "by request only" show these days. But they WILL run it.

I saw it last year for the first time. It's like a big comercial, sort of silly, and unlikely to impress people in this age of large HDTV screens.

Thumbs up Re: Season of the Vine...ever open?

I never get tired of seeing this film and I watch it everytime I am at DCA. There have been times where I have been the ONLY person there watching it, a private screening I might say! I LOVE the musical score which makes me coming back for more each time. I wish the music on the DCA CD was the complete version. And Jeremy Irons' narration is breathtaking as was his narration for EPCOT's Spaceship Earth! The overall attraction is fantastic and relaxing as a way to take a break from the excitement and the heat. I could stay there all day long if I wanted to, lol!

I saw this back in June for the first time. I believe DH and I were there on a Saturday and they were running the film once an hour or so. It was a nice little film, a nice little theater and sooooo cool on a hot day. Worth the visit. And it's even better when you follow it up with a tasting at the bar.
