I actually braved the beating sun on my pleather clad back to make the meet on 8/20/06 for Bats Day! It was so much fun to actually get to do something so different at the parks even though it felt like I had Grizzly River Run inside my catsuit.
The noon meet got a tad more crowded than usual.
RoseRedAngel, Myself, Wolfette, Morrigoon and lady3jane
B-Day Boy Al!
CrazyLegs was decked out as well!
Wolfette a.k.a. mini-goth ^_^
lady3jane said it was too hot to wear black
RoseRedAngel found a way to keep cool
Fishbulb got a birds eye view of the non-conformists
The little tadpole wanted to keep cool as well
Frogberto looks on in awe
Eeyore finally returned to the crowd he belongs to:
Soon enough it was time for the 1:00 pm picture by the castle. Rounding up goths is a lot harder than it looks. Kids, don't try this at home
Even the CMs had to take pictures of this non-joyous occasion:
You can view the madness for yourself via video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWYgs1KY610
Later on we took a trip on the Monorail.
Chernabog and the Shed Preistess herself
We even found Doomie in line for the Monorail!
Unfortunately, we were sad to find out it was the last day of Monorail service until August 15th. As such, we decided to document our final voyage on Walt's beautious transportation mechanism:
Around 8:00 pm, we joined the group near the Haunted Mansion for the group pictures.
We got number 700!!!
The most annoyingly hyperactive girls in line tried to counteract the gothly gloomyness
The goths gathered for group photos in a semi-organized fashion. The CM's couldn't resist either.
After pictures, we were shoveled into the Haunted Mansion all together. Apparently this is the one time where reciting the Ghost Hosts spiel is not only acceptable, but required. Take a look:
My first Bats Day was indeed a memorable one. I mean, I'll probably be carrying the burn marks on my back for at least the next few months.
