The Animation Building needs more <3

I just have to say, the Animation Building is one of the coolest (literally and figuratively) place to just sit down or lay back and relax in Disney's California Adventure. Unfortunately, it always seems to be empty when I go there. I laid back and watched the entire 25 minute loop of videos last night. It was amazingly relaxing. I went in to the building deppressed and left refreshed. If you've never seen the inside, here is a video of 3 segments from the loop (Each segment is about a minute long), which includes the 'Once Upon A Dream' segment from 'Sleeping Beauty'. I sighed happily watching it. ^_^

This place really is the gem of DCA. Once my wife and I stumbled in there only to find Sorcerer Mickey out for a meet and greet with only a few people around. Great stuff.

That is probably one of the greatest parts in the whole video! I love how relaxing that place is on a hot day...

Love it! I wish they had left all of those sofas in there though.

It's also a little secret for parents of toddlers...the PERFECT place to take a break and let your little ones "toddle free" and chase the lighting effects around the carpet! We used to make plenty of stops in there when the boys were younger without even going into any of the extra rooms or shows.

They're still in there. I actually lied down on one of them last night after taking that video while I waited for CrazyLegs to make a mad dash into the park.

Are they? Last time I went in there, there was no place to sit down. Hmm. There used to be a ton of seating, then just a little bit, then nothing. I'm glad to hear they've put something back in there. I think they were trying to use that space more for meet 'n greets and then suck people into the rest of the animation stuff.

That is my favorite thing to do in DCA!!! I was so scared they were going to change it when they were redoing the building!! My little boy loves music so I can't wait to take him this December to see it. I've sat in there for hours! Lol. I'm a dork.

Slightly OT, but. .

This has been bugging me for a while, now. I know about the Beast room's cool show, but what about the first room? Does the man in the mirror ever appear?

I'm with you Sadako. The animation building is great. The main hall, the room that had all the preproduction art, as well as all the themed rooms are terrific.

Love going in there with Micechatters and singing with the loop, such fun! Especially when "Someday My Prince Will Come" comes on and we get all sappy.

I am on board with all of you that this is such a "hidden gem" since I had not heard a whisper about it before we stumbled across it on one of our trips. It was so beautiful and there was so much to see and do. It is on my "to do" list for my next trip for sure!
