Remembering the 50th. As Disneyland's 50th celebration draws to a close, I thought it would be nice if us Micechatters could post are favorite memories of the Disneyland celebration through pictures. Its a fun way to remember the celebration.
This is the first showing of the Parade of Dreams on May 4th.
This is the only time I've seen Daisy and she looks so cute with the girl.

I think there is already a thread about our 50th memory sharing. Last post on that thread was from August the 10th I think. I'll find the post and up it or we could continue this one. Don't matter.
QUICK STORY.....
We took our 3 year old to the 50th and she met Snow White. When we got home, Grandmother mentioned that when she was a little girl, she met Snow White too. To which my 3 year old repied "Grandma, your too old to have met Snow White. She is much younger than you. Maybe you met her step mother, Did you know she was evil? Did she try to give you an apple?"

You know what, I really really loved the anniversary and all, but I dont think Im going to miss it. I mean, ya, the castle looks incredible but the surplus of attendence just because of the 50th wasnt my favorite. I cant wait til everything gets back to normal. Ya, the park will seem a lil bit empty at first with all the decorations gone but I dont think IM going to miss is that much. The parade and the fireworks will still be there and that is all I am worried about.

I think the 50th celebration has been very impressive. And the Remember... fireworks are my favorite part. I like the way they incorporated the Castle and the air space above the Hub into the show. I am not a HUGE fan of fireworks but I liked the 'walk down memory lane' theme. But it is true that all good things come to an end and that is not bad. It has been a year of high attendance and while good for Disney's income, it has been rough on those of us that don't enjoy the press of humanity. I just hope that the decision makers at Disneyland continue to make things special for the in-between years.
One of my favorite memories of Disneyland's 50th is a personal one. Many of you have seen this photo before, but please indulge me if I post it again.
My first visit to Disneyland was in 1955. My brothers and I posed on the Main Street Fire Wagon for a photo. 50 years later, one brother has passed away and the other lives in Washington state. Even so, I was able to pose again in the exact same place for another photo. I'm in the middle.
"Yesterday, a man walked up to me and said, 'Isn't it a shame that Walt Disney couldn't be here to see this?' and I said, "He did see this, that's why it's here."

That is just so cool Tom Chaney. My aunt was there on the opening day when she was 5 and also has a picture just like this.
Wow..it was quite a celebration.
My favorite parts:
The Remember fireworks: absolutly the best fireworks show they have ever had !! Having a clip for alot of the rides made it really special.
I loved the 50th parade and how they used a piece of Walt's Disneyland dedication speech.
I loved the "Disneyland through the years" with Stve Martin as host..absolutly hilairious !!
The scale model of Disneyland as it was in 1955..I hope they bring that back at a later time. It was impressive.
