I have an immediate solution for you. Go check out the Disney Soda Fountain and Studio Store in Hollywood. Right across the street, costumed characters parade up and down, and there's usually a vader and a stormtrooper there that you can take your picture with (provided they're still there).

Admittedly, it's odd to have the stormtrooper taller than vader.... just don't take any pics with all 3 of you in the shot!

Where were the Star Wars characters when the movies were coming out??? I think this is a good idea though.

Wonder if they 'could' get an updated Star Tours ready by next May for the convention. You'd better believe they'd pull in crowds for that.

Even if they could, I'd still rather wait and have them take the time for a full revamp. Not just a new film, but new motion sims, new projection systems, new/enhanced queue.... the whole shabang.

The attraction is 20 years old next year. Think of how far Imagineering has come in that time!

I'd like pictures of my rescuing Princess Leia and Padme from Vadar, followed by snapshots of yours truely being rewarded.

Anything less than a completely new ride would not be an E-Ticket, E-ticket. I agree. A film alone won't do the trick. How utterly "ahh-some" it would be if WDI created new simulators, holographic or enhanced 3-D projection, and a refurbished queue.

I think they will look so out of place in that hideous Tomorrowland.

Re: The Force Is Strong at Disneyland: Star Wars Characters Arrive At Last

Sounds pretty cool. Being the Star Wars geek that I am, I would be quite happy to have my picture taken with some characters. A Jedi Mickey would also be very fitting. And Han, they must have Han.

While I love how awesomly cheesy and old Star Tours looks, I'd love to see an update. But nothing too Prequel centric. Podracing may be interesting, but flying in the Falcon would be 1000 times better.

I really wish I could go to Celebration IV. It is my mecca. But Memorial Day weekend is right after finals and going on the actual Sat/Sun will probably be insane.

Disney would be stupid not to take advantage of the 30th anniversary of the movies, 20th anniversary of the attraction, and Celebration IV all happening within close promixity. That's big bucks!

I totally agree Braintoad. Disnye would be stupid to not take advantage of the Celebration. If they are smart they will cross promote to get people in the parks adn also announce STar Tours II at Celebration so that all the fans will come back when it opens.
