The Force Is Strong at Disneyland: Star Wars Characters Arrive At Last

As early as October, we can expect suited SW characters to start appearing regularly in Tomorrowland. According to Screamscape, we will be seeing Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, Darth Vadar, Storm Troupers, Anakin and Padme.

Could this be a sign that the rumored and much talked about new Star Tours ride lies ahead in the not too "far far away" future? While I am elated about the arrival of the SW characters, it also strikes me as curiously funny.

Are we not too question the fact that Luke and Leia are around the same age as their parents? How is it that Sith Lord Vadar and Anakin (the same person) will each be trodding around individually. "Luke... Anakin and I are, both, your fathers."

Oh well. I guess we aren't supposed to notice these "trivial" inconsistensies. Who's your daddy, Luke? :lmao:

I've never been a big SI-FI person, such as Star Wars, but I think it's totally cool that the SW characters would be coming to Tomorrowland. Especially is that means a new movie for Star Tours!!! =)

I think that a new Star Tours would be cool !

Projections are that sales will be big for SW toys this year even with no movie coming out. I think that if Disney were smart, they would be working on an updated Star Tours NOW! It could be the center piece on a Star War Weekend annual event. Of course, marketing would be salivating about this, but I think that guests would love it too.

Such great news! I think it will be great to see these face characters around the park. With the raging success of a wandering Jack Sparrow I am sure there will be plenty of fans fighting for a photo with their favorite SW character.

PS - Gunny I agree that an updated Star Tours would be AWESOME!

I don't know if I'll be able to contain myself until then........Star Wars and Halloween in October at DISNEYLAND?? What more could anyone ask for?!?!?!?!? :yea:

I agree and since I won't be able to be there I expect all of you Mice Chatters who will be there to post a TON of pictures :D

As much as I enjoy Star Tours... I think an updated version using concepts from the more recently released movies would be great!!

Oh man, those are not trivial inconsistencies to an anal eight year old girl from Oregon that I know. :( That's going to drive her (and consequently ME) crazy!

I can't wait for her to see these characters....I'm almost afraid to tell her!

We're getting a big Star Wars exhibit at our science museum in October, too. I was *hoping* to avoid yet another Star Wars Christmas, but it sounds like that will be impossible. Oy.

Um... I REALLY wouldn't expect that many characters.

I wouldn't look for an update to Star Tours just yet. The arrival of the characters is probably more related to the upcoming "Jedi Training Academy" for little boys.

I fear that we are approaching a few years where we should be prepared to be underwhelmed by Disney.

I'd expect a Star Tours update at some point in the future, but I doubt it will happen anytime soon.

But 2007 is going to be the 30 year anniversary of Episode IV, and the big celebration is going to be just down the road at the LA Convention Center. It might make sense for Disney to hype their Star Wars connections to get the conventioners into the gates during that week.
