Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel is the first dharacter breakfast that I experienced. This occured prior to the creation of Downtown Disney. The monorail stopped right in front of the hotel.

Anyway, Chip 'N Dale were with Goofey at the time, and each of them were all over the map acting...well Goofy. The food was beyond scrumpcious ala YUM!

I always had a lot of fun while WORKING at Goofy's Kitchen, however I believe that the Alice and Mad Hatter team at the Easter Buffet at DLH are absolutely brilliant. I often see the same team at Goofy's and in the park. They can also be seen sitting in a teacup on one of the current postcards being sold in the parks.

I have only been to one (Princess lunch at Ariel's Grotto) so I don't qualified to vote on this particular issue.

But I can say that my 4YO twin girls loved loved LOVED it.

They are all about the princesses and were very shy at first. Luckily, Snow White was the first one out and she was great. She goofed around with them and did some silly poses for the camera with them and generally had them giggling.

BTW - The salmon BLT I ordered was excellent.

I have to say the best character breakfasts I have been to has been at WDW. They are much more popular than DL's because of the settings. I feel that somehow Disney does not do them right at DL. IMHO At WDW, the food is out of this world, with chef choices that please the adult pallet as well as the child's. Also the atmosphere and setting are more magical, fitting the characters personalities.

Take for instance, the Plaza Inn. Being at the center of Disneyland, I feel like this should be THE place to be. It should have Mickey and Minnie and Goofy. But Disney just makes it a Minnie Mouse celebration. I think that is not enough. I see vacant tables all the time there. At WDW, character breakfasts are booked solid nearly every day. DL is just not doing them right. At DL I have heard more often than not that people feel that they did not get their value for their money. At WDW, most people will spend the same amount, but rarely did I ever hear that people thought it was too expensive. Most had their socks knocked off with the quality at WDW.

I think to make them more magical, Disney needs to rethink what characters are where and improve the quality and choices of the food. All they have to do is look to WDW and they would be doing much better.

I've only been to Goofy's Kitchen. My kids and I really like it - I finally had dinner there - and we loved the food. I'm not a big breakfast eater, so I feel like it's a waste of money for breakfast.

We're dying to try Stitch's breakfast - he's my kids favorite character right now.

I've only ever been to Goofy's Kitchen, so I don't qualify to vote...but we loved it and had a blast - we went for breakfast and another HUGE plus of a Hotel Character breakfast is you can have it before the park opens and you don't have to use park time to do it - and you can also do it your last day before you leave without paying for park admission...fun way to end a trip!

    Have experienced most of them.

Goofy's Kitchen is the best for interacting with the characters and quite a wide variety of them. Lots of fun for the kids. Food is so-so, heck it's a buffet.

For food quality Ariel's Grotto if perferable for adult dining. For little girls, this is like a dream come true, Princesses abound.

Storyteller's is kinda a combination of both food wise, you can order a normal meal, or go for the buffet. Lots of fun, but not a lot of characters. Breakfast only, which is kinda a shame. Their dinner buffet is actually quite good.

Both are a bit pricey, but it's Disney!
Mom, remember, it's not what a person is like on the outside that counts,
it's what they are like in their HEART!

As far as the current Breakfast choices, which characters are at which breakfasts? Which has the best food, in your humble opinion?

the minnie and friends breakfast is really nice. it is buffet style so you can get what you want when you want it. the characters make every attempt to hit each table at least once. also, the characters interact well together making for an all-around fun exprience.

from my experience, it is difficult to get into this breakfast unless you have a reservation. also, every time we've gone, all of the seats have been filled.
    I'd rather be at Disneyland

Re: Most Fun and Exciting Character Dining at Disneyland Resort

Storytellers has the best food, in my opinion. Looove their buffet, especially dinner (no characters at dinner though), as some of us can get the buffet, while others can order off the menu.

Goofy's has always had really great character interaction for my kids, and the food is okay, although not as good as it used to be. There's enough variety to please everyone in our group, though, including me, the family picky eater.

We never miss a meal at Goofy's or Storytellers on our family trips.

I've only been to Goofy's Kitchen and the Lilo and Stitch Breakfast, but they were both great. I think that Goofy's kitchen had a bigger variety of characters, but the Lilo and Stitch Breakfast had much better food. With the great entertainment, the free leis, and plenty of room in there, it's a tough call between which was better.
