    Trip report 8/27/06 - Grand Circle Tour Onboard The Lilly Belle (Merged)

    Arrival!


    The dreaded lines......and I am not even IN the park!



    Crappatouie! Late for our 12:30pm boarding time! Literally Missed The Train!




    At the train station! You notice lots of cool things when waiting for the train to circle the entire park!





    Taken after I got off the scale! It lies!





    Nope! Wrong train!



    At model train enthusiasts "wet" dream!





    I WANT this poster!



    Disneyland's locomotives!







    Bag for my 20 gallon pirate hat!



    Left is RED and right is GREEN!



    I think I own this plate....?



    Luggage....permanently bolted to overhead bins!



    Still not the correct train!







    DL wife waiting patiently!



    Wherever we go in the Esplanade.....DLR always greets my son!

    Ahhhh! This is the RIGHT train!



















    That 20 gallon pirate hat mentioned previously!



    Overhead lighting!



    Overhead lilghting closer!



    Stained glass trimming in the overhead throughout the car!





    I believe our Conductor stated that this was Catalina glass from Catallina Island! Very popular in the 30s and 40s. Now.....REAL EXSPENSIVE!!!







    Original carpent! Lillian Disney's favorite!

    Shakespeare's ugly green monster has officially reared its head over my shoulder. Someday I will ride the Lilly Belle. Until then, thank you for the amazing photos.

    Interior shots continue!





    Fireplace cover....period piece but strange to have on a private car with no fireplace....?



    All restored woodwork! Destroyed by termites when it sat in storage for many years!



    Great attention to detail!







    Nice fake roses! They should add Disneyland Roses when the train is on the tracks. They grow in the park!







    To hang your pirate hat, conductor hat, or tophat!



    Don't remember the book titles or the significance of the specific titles...







    For the gentlemen with tabackie!!!



    Again...fake roses!



    Catalina glass? Not sure! Meh! Blurry!

    Trip report 8/27/06 - Grand Circle Tour Onboard The Lilly Belle - Part 4

    It continues....hopefully giving you a great "Virtual Tour" of the Lilly Belle until your next trip to DLR!

    Cool thing is that we rode by ourselves and there was no CM onboard...not even outside the doors! COOL! ....maybe it is SOP but we felt SPECIAL!







    Cool chairs....note some are permanent others are not. Easy to maneuver around so that when hosting guests they can sit together.







    More Catalina Glass...









    No one spits like Gaston.......PTOOOOIE! Just don't miss because the carpet is hard to clean....and original!





    Night time ambieance! Through the Grand Canyon!



    See the lights are REALLY on....light switch is in the drawer of the small table at front of car.



    Romantic except for squealing child.....it was very HOT onboard!



    Period photos...What it would have looked like back in "the day!"










    Praying to the shed? No just taking pictures....







    What is that....the kid thinks!


    The happy couple! To have met them in spirit!

    Great photos, looks like you had a great experience. But couldn't all the photos be kept in 1 thread instead of 5?

    Wow, those pictures are great, and it's incredible that you were able to do this! I'm also jealous (among many jealous of your trip in the Lily Belle), and thank you for sharing these pictures!
