    Characters on Rides

You know, I've seen countless commercials, specials and promos with characters riding the rides... but I've NEVER actually seem them do this. I'd love to see the Mad Hatter riding the Tea Cups, I'd even give up my girlfriend's seat for the chance to ride w/ him!

    Re: Characters on Rides

We rode the carousel with Gepetto once. It was amusing because I'm not sure he'd tried it before. When he went to climb onto his horse, he realized his character shoes wouldn't fit into the stirrups! With a lot of pulling and scrambling, he did finally climb up on his mount.
"Yesterday, a man walked up to me and said, 'Isn't it a shame that Walt Disney couldn't be here to see this?' and I said, "He did see this, that's why it's here."

Over the years our kids have ridden with characters.

Mad Hatter on the teacups and the Storybook Canal.

Goofy on the old rocket ride in TL.

    Goofy on Dumbo.

    VERY cool...

Goofy rode on the train in the car ahead of us last trip.
If you see a cute yellow lab puppy with a yellow cape, WAVE! It might be us! (Or it may be someone else that lurks here!) Thank you for asking before you pet! Next trip, Dec 22-Jan 3rd.

Wendy & Capt Hook on Storybook ride. I think if you look up character pages in Mouseinfo, you'll see some characters on rides.

I saw Goofy, Mickey, Chip, and Pluto drive cars in Autopia in Oct 2004. It was really cool because it was my first ever visit.

In Paris Mickey and Minnie went on Rock n Rollercoaster......

....In soft toy form. The seats were broken so instead of wrapping the two seats in yellow tape, the two stuffed toys took a ride instead.

I've seen Sheriff Woody on Thunder. It was great watching him go through Spiral Butte. I'm pretty sure he was with some Make-a-Wish kids and they really wanted him to come along.

In WDW I've seen Brer Fox and Brer Bear ride Spalsh Mountain. Again, I think it was for Make-A-Wish, or something like that.

    Re: Characters on Rides

I got to ride the Pooh ride with Eeyore once. I was sitting nearby with my twin girls and a CM asked if we would like to take a ride with him. So I left the girls there and...

No, we all went. He sat in the front and we were behind him. He sat sideways the whole time and was really, um, animated. That sounds kinda hokey but there you have it.

Afterward, a CM took my camera and snapped some pictures of us. I would share them, but the roll of film got ruined somehow. I went digital after that!

    Re: Characters on Rides

Alice and Mad Hatter were riding Tea Cups with some kids the ride before ours. They had to leave as we got on and Alice is my wife's favorite. We've just never had much luck with Alice.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter
