Just a simple, cool DL logo t-shirt, please!

You know what I wish they would make: just a simple one-color classic Disneyland silkscreened logo (along with the 50's version sylized castle icon) on a plain black t-shirt or ringer.

No "rubberized" raised letters. No faux-retro candy colored graphic package. No parade of characters. No glitter. No overdone photo-shop collage of nostalgic stuff. No clutter. The current ones are too flashy/girly/tacky for my tastes.

Just a simple, classic/retro Disneyland logo w/castle t-shirt please. Like a younger adult male or teen would be content to wear (not that I am either of these demos, but that's where my tastes in shirts run). I'll bet I'm not the only one who would buy this.

That would be nice, I want one like that too. I dont really like the ones they have now either, there too goddy and light colored. I guess the only way you can get one of those is by making one yourself.

The only shirt somewhat similar to what you're asking is with the new "retro wear"

They now have a brown "ringer" tee. The front has a small 50th Anniversary Mickey ears logo in the upper left corner in dark brown and on the back it has the "retro wear" Disneyland marquee design. All of the design is in one color: a dark brown. The shirt is a regular brown color.

Its very nice. I have one, got it at World of Disney in DTD. Not sure if they're selling them inside the park anywhere, but if they are, theyre most likely at the Emporium.

But yeah, I've always hated the designs Disney has for theme park shirts. A good Haunted Mansion shirt is especially hard to come by.

yes! someone else besides me thinks that the T-shirts are too gaudy! X_x I wish they would come out with a decent villian shirt, some in simular nature (Maleficent, Chernabog, Headless Horseman) and not a whole gaggle of unasembaled characters.

And not only that, but they haven't made a decent MGM studio shirt either!

I agree, Disneyland more often than not leaves a lot to be desired in the way of t-shirt designs. They're either too much or not enough. I was fortunate to find a decent Pirates of the Caribbean shirt the last time I was there (2002), and I still wear that shirt proudly nowadays. But boy, how I would love to have a good Tomorrowland or Adventureland shirt. There literally should be a variety of shirts for every land, every popular attraction, and then of course the Park as a whole.

A Matterhorn shirt would be VERY cool.

I think they should use the old attraction poster art, myself. God, I'd love to wear that artwork! That'd sell like hotcakes, I think.

My fondest memory of Walt Disney was the day Disneyland opened....I was standing next to him - I was 12 years old - he was looking at the gate where people were coming through, he had his hands behind his back, he had a grin from ear to ear, but you could see the lump in his throat and the tear coming down his cheek because his dream had been realized. -- Mouseketeer Sharon Baird, "Mouseke-Memories", Walt Disney Treasures: The Mickey Mouse Club

Interesting thread. Yesterday, I spent the day with my grandson and his mom, making our own t-shirts to wear on our upcoming Disney World trip. We also made t-shirts for the trip, that my grandson and I are making to California in July for the Anniversary of Disneyland. I have a great variety to wear.

I do not know how to put up pictures on the computer, so I cannot show you. Some of my designs include pictures we scanned from Disneyland books and brochures.

I made one with the Sleeping Beauty Castle, all decked out. I used the picture in the Birnbaum book on Disneyland. I have a t-shirt also with the Gold 50 logo, that is coomonplace in all ads for the anniversary. I made another with a map of Disneyland Park and the opening day sppech that Walt Disney gave.

I am new at this t-shirt making thing, but actually have made enough new t-shirts, so I can wear a different one for each day of my 7 day trip to Disneyland.

I suggest, if you are handy on the computer and find a design that you like, try putting it on a t-shirt. We made a lot of white shirts, they are easier than color. Probably cooler, too, in the California sunshine. Can't wait to wear mine.

I even put Barbaraan on one of mine, on the back. Jiminy Cricket is on the front. It's the only way, that I ever found to wear a t-shirt of my favorite character.

After looking at the designs on the websites, that have stores, this morning, I am glad that I designed these shirts. I, too, am not very fond of their chosen logos. Maybe some special designs, might appear in the park after May 5, but I have some unique ones to wear on my upcoming trip, and they were not to expensive to make, besiides being fun.

I agree. It just baffles me whenever I am in a Disney shop and I can't find any clothing designs that I like. The last time I was at Disneyland and this past year when I was at Epcot I really wanted to get a hooded sweatshirt, but there were none that just had the place name and a simple design. Everything was a gaudy hodge podge of stuff, most of which wasn't directly related to either park. It's a shame that it is apparently difficult for Disney to come up with appealing clothing designs.

You know I have to comment on this. The brown tee-shirt is available at both the Emporium and Showcase stores on mainstreet.
The RETRO design shirt is specifically refered to as the 'trendy' tee-shirts and are readily available at both stores too. I refer to them as the "Six Flags over Anaheim" tee-shirts.

Seriously in DL your best one-stop bet for 50th merch is Showcase on mainstreet. It's the A-store for this stuff and will have the largest selection basically anywhere, just to save you all some time.
