PHOTO UPDATE 9/1: Year of a Million Merchandise Opportunities, Tomorrowland, +MORE

Back with another update, not much to see around the parks, but Disney is starting to bring in Year of a Million Dreams merch already as the 50th winds down and Tomorrowland is still Constructionland. ...Take a look:

    YEAR OF A MILLION
    MERCHANDISE OPPORTUNITIES.

The new line of "Year of a Million Dreams" merch has started to hit the shelves at the DLR. The Emporium in Disneyland has a full line of "Disneyland Resort - Where Dreams Come True" merch, and the Star Trader in Tomorrowland oddly offers "DisneyParks - Where Dreams Come True" merch. It seems weird to me that they'd even make "DisneyParks" merch, because most people are going to want to have a t-shirt or a sweatshirt with the name of the actual Resort that they visited on it. I don't see to many Disneyland guests buying the "DisneyParks" shirts, and a CastMember we talked to doesnt seem to think so either. He said a woman already told him "I don't even want the shirt unless it says 'Disneyland' on it!" ... Can you blame her?

Also check out CrazyLegs' related thread, with additional photos of the "Where Dreams Come True" merch, HERE.

    Adult Men's T-Shirt: $19; Adult Women's T-Shirt: $28.

    Adult Baseball Cap: $19.50.

    Gray Children's T-Shirt: $17

Navy Adult Zip Hoodie: $44. Front.

Navy Adult Zip Hoodie: $44. Back.

    Bag: $24.

    Adult Men's Polo Shirt: $39

    DisneyParks merch:

Blue Rock Candy Cube: $4; Static cling window decal: $8

    TOMORROWLAND CONSTRUCTION CONTINUES...
    Work continues...

    HALLOWEEN CONTINUES TO CREEP IN...
Candy Palace on Main Street has gotten it's character display area re-dressed with a more Halloween/Fall theme.

...And that's all. Until next time...

It's nice to see Disney still use characters like her in their parks. It seems like you are more likely to run into Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, & the Pixar characters more than any others. Of course I do not go into Toontown all that often, so maybe Daisy frequents that area. Who knows. It is still nice to see characters like her still in the parks.

Yeah, Daisy has been up in this display area for a while and she and her area are typically re-dressed to match specific themes, holidays, and seasons. This photo was taken at the Candy Palace on Main Street, USA.

Great pics and update! I'm still unsure how I feel about the new merchandise. It all reminds me of the "Pre 50th" stuff they were selling. Very generic looking. Guess I'd better get used to it!

I can tell you EXACTLY how I feel!
This is some of the sorriest lookin' $hit I've ever seen!!

Jay Rasulo should be horsewhipped for trying to generic-fy the Disney Parks.
Seriously, I'm so torqued right now!!
I can't wait 'til that guy gets fired for his incompetence. What a brick!

I guess I'm not as opposed to the design as I am to the "Disney Parks" reference. If those shirts said Disneyland or even Disneyland Resort(or Walt Disney World, or Hong Kong Disneyland, et al.), I'd be okay with it.
What I don't like is the "one shirt fits all parks" concept, and I hope the rest of the buying public doesn't either, so that Jay Rasulo gets his walking papers for it.

As do I. I like the way they are designed. Very fantasy like.

I have to agree with both of you...

Visually, the logo(s) is/are nice enough. But the message, and the details of the logo is what kills it.

The Disneyland Resort version of this logo should NOT feature the turrets of Cinderella Castle. We should be getting the turrets of Sleeping Beauty Castle.

If we had Resort-specific logos, then that would be one thing. But since we're getting a generic logo, for a generic campaign, its all a bit nauseating.

Still, I don't mind the Disneyland-specific merch (with or without Cinderella's castle), but the DisneyPark's merch is beyond repulsive.

I could understand if there was a corporate/studio store somewhere in Burbank or at the Soda Fountain in Hollywood and they were selling the DisneyParks merch, or the DisneyParks design was being used corporately-only. But the fact that it's being sold in the parks is horrible. If someone wants to buy a shirt at Disneyland it either needs to say "Disneyland Resort" on it or be park- or attracion-specific. We shouldn't be getting cheap, empty, generic designs.
