I'm always viewed Ferris Wheels as a means of looking at the park and seeing the sights. In the case of the Sun Wheel, you get a little bit more. But seriously, how long do you want to be in that thing?
As for OTHER Paradise Pier rides, yeah, they are all relatively short (except Screamin', which has a very respectable time for a launched coaster)
The fact that you can compare the county fair and a Disney park shows the flaw in the PP concept. I don't think the rides in PP are worth the little time it takes to ride them anyway. Except for California Screamin of course. I wonder if having Midway Mania will bring more people over to PP, making the other lines longer? I doubt it, but maybe.
It's not the length of the rides, it's the QUALITY. I don't see anyone complaining about Dumbo or Peter Pan!!!
Paradise Pier has issues - we get it. I'm not trying to be rude, but there are just sooooo many other threads about this same topic. I seem to remember starting one myself called "Bulldoze Paradise Pier."
The person above speaks the truth. I've seen lots of rides at county fairs that, in terms of ride type, are VERY similar to rides found in Fantasyland.
DCA isn't the only park with off the shelf rides.
I wasn't implying that Fantasyland has "county fair" rides. I was just saying that how long a ride is doesn't matter. There are 30 second rides that I very much enjoy. Likewise, a 10 min. ride is not always good.
