One of my FAVORITE times of the year to go is for HMH! I don't think they're having an event this year, but me and my wife will be there on our honeymoon when the rides open, so either way I'm going to be happy. HMH merchandise would be a plus though!

I think HMH has become a tradition at Disneyland.

I hope so. But, I have heard that Tim Burton was thinking about pulling the plug? Hopefully that rumor has been expunged by now. I couldn't live without my twice a year HMH visit. Once in Sep/Oct. for opening and another in November for Thanksgiving.

Guys, really, use the search engine (or the Disneyland Calendar, for that matter).

Iger has confirmed that HMH will continue this year.

If you're referring to the store being shut down, it's getting a remodel and will be back up and running soon.

With the new effects that were installed in HM, I wonder how they would change those effects for the HMH holiday. Like for example, do you think that the face in the seace room will turn into Oogie Boogie?

How about the disappearing heads? Will they be disappearing toys or something?

Or would these effects be tirned off during the new HMH overlay?

What if the bride get's a halo now that she's on the other side. I bet the husbands instead of their heads dissapearing they will get pumpkin heads.

At the stockholder meeting, earlier this year, someone specifically
asked if HMH would return to DL this year. It was stated that
Haunted Mansion Holiday IS returning this year (and has been
on the schedule for months) AND that NOTHING AT ALL IS
PREVENTING IT'S RETURN ANYTIME IN THE FUTURE. Disney HAS
    the rights.

The whole renegotiating thing with Tim Burton is a bunch of hooey.

EDIT: Regarding HMH merchandise, someone posted here on MiceChat
that Pieces of Eight is Expanding into the LaBat'en Rouge area,
where HM and Jack merchandise has been located for the past
5 years. LaBat'en Rouge is being moved up the street, to the
previous year 'round Christmas Store, with the red front (not
to be confused with the hand blown glass ornament store which
is a little further down the street). This red front store has
also been the pirate merchandise store, while Pieces of Eight
was being remodeled, and throughout the summer. Perhaps
someone can confirm the move of LaBat'en Rouge with pic?!?!?!

Last year, for the holiday makeover, they didn't have Madame
Leota's Crystal Ball floating (evidently there is too much light
in that room for the effect to look convincing) so the crystal
ball was just placed on the table. As for the Attic, with the
huge makeover with portraits, wedding gifts, bride, it will be
interesting to see what will be done in that area for the HMH,
    this year.

Aladdin, do you think that maybe we might see an Oogie Boogie face or something appearing in the Seance room rather than that ghostly face we can see now in the attraction?

The attic portraits can show some of the mansion's inhabitants with their holiday gifts . . . before and after, that is. There's a great possiblility for humor here.

The bride can be replaced with a full-sized Sally animatronic or at least a similar effect that is being used for the bride.

Maybe there could be shadows of Lock, Shock, and Barrel running around amoung the attic stuff, giggling and playing a game of hide 'n' seek with the Doom Buggies. Have them also pop up from behind furniture and presents in an attempt to scare passerbys.

About the TIm Burton renegotiation thing. I heard last year that there was a lot of that going on. Since he probably still owns the rights to the characters and stuff, thereby recieving money from all the stuff they sell, I doubt, though he may have problems with the decision, agree to keep it going.

Let's face it, it's a good idea, despite the copious amounts of downtime. It draws people who ordinarily would not be at the park. I've never seen so many mohawks (obviously, I never make it to Bat Day, which ticks me off!) It's a money maker and everyone involved is gonna shake it!

It still saddens me that there won't be an event this year. I will miss the band and being inside the park after hours. Hope to see some of you at the rides opening though!

I will never understand why everyone gets so jazzed about HMH. In my opinion this overlay drastically reduces the quality of the Haunted Mansion during its run and due to the setting up and taking down time, we are left with two months out of the year with no Haunted Mansion at all. I love the movie, but it is quite dated and most kids riding it don't understand the purpose of it. I would love it if Haunted Mansion would just stay as is for the entire year.

I have no idea what they are going to do with Madame Leota's room.
Probably just the same as last year, but I really hope that they do
find a way to keep her crystal ball floating, this holiday season.

For the attic, the Ghost Host says:

"A bag full of toys Jack had slung on his back…
they were strange and bizarre—and on the attack!”

So I would thing the toys would still be coming back. Most of the toys
were small anyway, so they would still fit. But unless they temporarily
remove some of the new props, there doesn't appear to be room for the snake.

Hmmmmm, I wonder, in all the planning for the new bride and wedding
picture effects, if they thought of incorporating those new effects into
    the Haunted Mansion Holiday.
