Re: Weirdest/Most Annoying Name Used for an Attraction by the Unknown

I have a friend who, even after being corrected many, many times, still calls California Screamin the California Screamer. Maliboomer is the Drop Zone (from Great America in Santa Clara, Ca.). Also, DCA always has an s at the end making it Disneys California Adventures.

Although, I catch myself calling the Disneyland Railroad just "the train."

The one that really gets to me is Cinderella Castle. And Autotopia, I hear that one a ton too.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

The one I like is "CARTOON LAND" being Mickey's Toon Town.

That one is an epidemic. Others I hear are Fantasia for Fantasmic!, and Haunted House for the Haunted Mansion.

Re: Weirdest/Most Annoying Name Used for an Attraction by the Unknown

My favorite Diz Knee Land, by U.B. Named
    (All misheard attractions italicized)

After parking in the MF parking structure, we took the tram to the main gates. After walking through the tunnel, we found ourselves in Main Street. I wanted to take the Double Decker Bus, but it wasn't running at the time. Instead we headed to Tomorrowland where we picked up Fast Tickets for Space Mountain.

The park was crowded, so we didn't get on many rides. Before lunch we rode the Teacups, Small World After All, The Mine Ride, and saw the Tiki Birds Show. I miss the Sky Buckets, but at least they still have the train around the park.

For lunch we dined on burgers and Hungry Man Restaurant. We rode Splash Water Falls (note: I believe this is also the name of a Six Flags Attraction), The Canoes, Haunted House, and The Pirate Ride before enjoying a churro in Fantasyland and taking in The Merlin Show.

Before leaving the park we rode Scary Pirates again (heard this on from a little girl in the queue a few years back), saw Fantasia on the Rivers of the World and the fireworks from Snow White's Castle. I wish we had time to ride Space or Jungle Book, or visit Robinson Cruso's Treehouse but everyone in my group was tired and ready to go home.

    The End.

It does bug me a bit. There was also this lady in line, while waiting for the tram into the park, and she was talking like she knew every single thing about the park. It was annoying... She also called Buzz Lightyear "Toy Story Blast" I'm not lying...
    Toy Story Blast?!?

THE SPACE NEEDLE COASTER FOR NEVERLANDS SAKE! Autotopia is a big one tho, i would have to admit...ive heard it called the "chevron go carts" *shudder*
SPACE NEEDLE! How the heck do they get that?! I am in Washington now and believe me the Space Needle is nothing like SPACE MOUNTAIN. That is SUPER annoying.

I agree with this. In all honesty, I've never heard any real bad ones when I've been there. I mean I use "Buzz Ride" and "Indiana" as short cuts.

Ok... so they're not the correct names. Raise your hands to all who just abbreviate all three of these attractions to these names.

I'm sure most of us know the proper names.... but is it that wrong to say Main Street instead of Main Street, USA? Or the Teacups instead of Mad Tea Party? Or the canoes instead of Davy Crockett's Explorer Canoes?

I find these are just abbreviations, not somebody ignorant... I'm sure most of us will say that we were walking down Main Street or that we want to ride the Teacups. It's just shorter.

Completely agree, FB. It made my little story a little longer to include some of abbreviations as well as the misheard ones, however.

    I also often use:

Space, Indy, Splash, Thunder, Pirates, Tiki, etc etc etc

My daughter calls it Autotopia. For some reason it is harder for her to pronouce Autopia than Autotopia. Eh, doesn't bother me at all.

My favorite name for a ride was when I overheard a dad ask his 10 year old son what his favorite ride was. His reply,

"The one with the frog where you go to hell and it's hot!"

The dad kinda blinked a second and replied, "Mr. Toad?"

    "Ya, that one."
