Mark me down as part of the those who despise the guests calling the Columbia a pirate ship. Do you see a Jolly-roger being waved? It's an American flag! Count the guns on the ship. It's not even a 10-gun ship...what pirate would have success with that? They're probably the same guests that play Monkey Island and think its an actual repersentation of the era of pirates.

    Sorry, done ranting now.

I used to call the Country Bears the "Crunchy Bears"... then again I was still in pre-school and let's face it, "country" is a tricky word.

Yeah I'm pretty sure this happens all the time. It's easier sometimes to make a ride sound less scary by putting it in terms kids understand. Although It can cause confusion later. I was always told when i was little that POTC was "the Peter Pan Ride" just so i would get on it. Come on, Pirates=capt hook=peter pan, it works huh?

My faveourite one is when I went to Disneyland with my friends early last month. My friend Sarah reffered to New Orleans Square as "New Orleans TIME Square" it tickled me pink, I forced her to refer to it as that from then on out.

Thumbs up Re: Weirdest/Most Annoying Name Used for an Attraction by the Unknown

I am new to posting here just because I have been to lasy to register! I grew up a a disney kid and love Disneyland more than any other place I have ever visited and being in the Air Force I visited many different places. I live in Vegas now and I have been to Disneyland only 10 days this summner and its killing me!!!!!

Anyway on topic, I like to think that people calling rids by an incorrect name doesn't bother me but I do find myself correcting people at times. Then I realize I am being a "Know it all" and I stop myself. I think I am just helping but it obviously annoys some people. So if they call things the wrong name just think to yourself, they obviously don't live around here or come as much as I do and ignore it then you as well as them can have a good day.

On my last trip down to Disneyland from Portland, on the plane, there was a family made up of a woman her daughter and her grandchildren. The Mother of the two was continuously talking about going to Disneyland and Adventureland. It took me about fifteen minutes to figure out what she was talking about. It didn't bother me, I just found it interesting. It did how ever bother my brother, who about twenty minutes from landing he looked at me like they where talking about the grate viking Abraham Lincoln.

    I love air planes.

I heard someone call Indiana Jones "the Steven Spielberg ride" once. Had me shaking my head.

I used to work at Magic Mountain and people kept messing up Roaring Rapids and Colossus and calling them Raging Waters and Colossal.

I hate it when people call California Screamin' the "Mickey Mouse roller coaster at California Adventure". Ugh! It's so annoying.
