    Autopia-uhm.....

OK, I was checking out some pictures from Hong Kong Disneyland, and I saw pictures from the autopia. I saw their cars and I thought
"wow, compared to theirs, ours look like crap!"
Yes I know, their Autopia is newer, but I think that ours can be updated.

Here is the 2 car styles.

I think that our should be updated because after all, it is a future land. I really like the space-aged look of the HK ones.
Also, in another thread I saw earlier (I forgot who posted it), it suggested putting radios in the cars. And while I don;t think that you should be able to turn the dials and choose the station, I think that there should be a radio that plays songs. Old and new Tomorrowland songs, and songs that are good for just cruising.

Anyways, just posting my thoughs. Comments?

Their cars are way cooler! I wonder though, they look smaller too. We tend to have a few people in the US that are much larger than the largest person in HK. perhaps it could be a weight carrying issue? An update would be great!

DL's cars are hideous. You look like an absolute idiot driving one.

I think the cars should be modeled after real cars and the kids should be taught road rage etiquette

Let them sit in the sun for a couple years and then post a picture of the HK cars and compare them to ours.

So you think it should be like the Buzz Lightyear ride and you can score depending on where hit other cars and drivers?

It would certainly prepare children for the average LA freeway...

how sue happy are they in hong kong? How easy is it for a citizen to win a lawsuit? I think we have to have sucj high backs, because we have pareants who do not watch their chiildrena dn they crwal out the back...then they sue Disney. Like on roger rabbit. they built up the back of those ride vechicles as well.

I do like the cars from hong kong better though.

I like the HK "sporty" model, they are pretty cool. Some of the cars in the DL autopia are ok too. I really don't like Autopia and only ride it occasionally.

How do you feel during the last moments of "Alice in Wonderland" riding in a giant caterpiller zigzagging back and forth on a trail of giant leaves? Does that experience better fit your personality?

Sorry, there are plenty of opportunities to feel like an idiot (mentally challenged, for the PC crowd) while in Disneyland, but Autopia?

I think the HK cars look more like classic roadsters from the 60's rather than anything from the future. But from a roadster driver myself I do like them a lot better than the DL ones.

The autopia cars currently being used in Disneyland are not that old, so I doubt they will change anytime soon.
Also, you have to remember how little Hong Kong Disneyland really has.
They better make the most of each attraction, there isn't as many there.
Goin around the world...and back to Disneyland!

    Re: Autopia-uhm.....

Disneyland should have built those darned cars with "The Future" in mind! After all, it is a ride in TomorrowLand. Removable fiberglass shells would have been a good idea. That way, they could update the style of the car as often as they'd like. Although it is a 60's esque roadster, it does have a futuristic flair to it. It cant be cars that look like cars from the real world because it wouldnt be the future...it would be the present. With tomorrow land in general...it needs to be re-done with the future in mind...it needs to be interchangable so that it can be updated frequently! I LOVE THOSE HK CARS!
