Re: Evacuation through Main Street USA Backstage (VIDEO!) - 9/15/06

Eventhough backstage really isn't all that "spiffy," it's like seeing your teacher at the grocery store. You're out of your normal scenario and seeing them in a whole different situation-and while it really isn't anything to call home about-is still intriguing. I saw the backside of Space Mountain once, as well as the character break room and the real fire station...and while it wasn't elaborate, it was still exciting as hell to see!

Thanks for posting the video, Sadako!

Then don't watch it. It's like a spoiler for your fav show. If you don't want to know what happens, then don't read it!

For me, it just makes it all the more magical! I love seeing how things are done...I love the inner workings...it's amazing all that goes into the Disney universe!

Thank you Sadako for the great vids!

It enhances the magic for me. I'm continually amazed and impressed by how much Disney can hide behind facades. Truly magical.

I like to see how things are done too. Everybody in my car in Indy was mad that we broke down. I thought it was cool becaue we got a short tour of the ending of the attraction. I get very curious at how things are done and seeing how they work is really cool.

If you do make it public, be sure to let us know!!!
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

I don't really get it either. Maybe it's like how with some people, alcohol consumption tapers off after hitting age 21 because it's no longer fun and exciting like it used to be because it's no longer forbidden? Perhaps it's no longer exciting for Cast Members or former Cast Members because they are/were allowed to go back there as needed?

Thank you Sadako! I really enjoyed the backstage view! Hope you get stuck in some more unusual situations at DL (*grins*) so we can see more great videos! I see a pattern here! I wonder what's next?

If it's not such a big deal to CM's than why are they so adamant about there being no physical documentation of these areas whatsoever?

This is only used when there is a high number of people in the park (usually 45K+) The idea is that this will help to prevent stampedes on Main Street while people try to exit. It is highly discouraged from from being used, but it is sometimes needed, especially with all the people in the park.

As for frontierland not being accesible, this is all part of either "Circular Flow", or "Modified Flow". This is to help the people leaving the park from Fantasmic! to have as much area to use to leave.
