Since halloween is coming I was wondering if any of the folks in micechat land had any true stories about paranormal experiences while at the Disneyland Resort. And no, the ghosts in the HM don't count. Unless it wasn't built by an Imagineer.
I was told of an experience a CM friend of mine had while cleaning below decks on the sailing ship Columbia. This CM is a big guy. His arms can crack people's heads like walnuts, not that he would -- being a decent guy and all. But this shook him up so badly he nearly wet himself. He doesn't believe in ghosts and all that. Maybe thats why his experience so completely freaked him out.
As I said, he was below decks working his way forward, cleaning as he went. It was late at night, with the park long closed and the steam hose crews were out hosing down the streets and walkways. Thats when he began to feel the hairs standing up on the back of his neck and that uneasy sense he wasn't alone. My friend figured it was another CM who was notorious for playing practical jokes and drinking on the job. (He was also the one who hid the bottles of whiskey that were discovered when the ROA was drained.) But just in front of the forward bulkhead he saw the faintest hint of swirling mist that slowly began to congeal.
At this point, my CM friend started getting a bit angry about (he thought) being made the butt of an elaborate practical joke. He began walking forward towards the bow and got two thirds of the way there when the mist formed into the person of a youngish Walt Disney. He stopped dead in his tracks, unable to move as the specter's eyes fixed upon him and then vanished.
The CM ran to where the figure had stood and the air was a bitter freezing cold. He didn't finish cleaning below decks that night. He simply went on to another task.
Have others witnessed similar things?
