Mickey's Shining Star Cavalcade & other things

Greetings everyone!

As you've probably heard by now, the 45 Years Of Magic Parade Of The Stars has FINALLY been removed from the park. Now thru early May there's a character cavalcade performing twice a day called Mickey's Shining Star Cavalcade. Today I am going to share with you photos & video clips of the cavalcade. This show is only 2 1/2 minutes long so don't blink.

You may notice that both videos 1 & 5 are of the beginning. Why ? The cavalcade ended so quickly I was able to walk over from one side of Town Square (on Main Street) to the other side & start recording the whole thing all over again! It's THAT short!

The Main Street Train Station is being repainted.

The Disneyland Railroad will reopen on Saturday, March 12th.


The gift shops by the tunnels are getting some fresh paint as well.

The Haunted Mansion reopened on Monday but it's refurbishment continues.

The portrait of Miss April/December has been replaced with one of Master Gracy from Magic Kingdom in Florida.

Madame Leota's crystal ball now floats around the seance table.

The bride in the attic & the little bride in the crypt have a new pink hue.

Splash Mountain is closed through March 11th for refurbishment.
Today workers were repairing the flume.

The new logs for Splash Mountain have side by side seating in the back.

And finally, the Mad Tea Pary is closed for refurbishment.
It's rumored the cups will be restored to their original spinning condition.

The cool and annoying thing about Issac's pictures is that he just stands there so casually and click-click-click, so effortlessly, and then all of his pictures come out so awesome looking. I stand for minutes trying to get the perfect pic and my photos come out looking like I took them during an earthquake. :D

Anyway, I love these shots. I love how the calvacade shots are all in front of a refurb wall. It's like they're saying, 'Watch us dance and lip-sync, ignore the huge walled up area behind us.'

Lovely pictures of the Mansion. Can't wait to get the time to go see it myself.

Just an off topic note, as a cast member, there are some guests that just make your day. The little girl in your pic of New Orleans wearing the blue dress is one of them. She went on quite a few of my rides when she was there. She was the most adorable thing in the whole world and made a very good monkey on Casey Jr, not to mention insisting later on that she WAS Cinderella. Just thought I'd share. Her dress was gorgeous too. It wasn't one of the disney bought ones.

WOAH... Have Flora Fauna and Merryweather always been face characters at Disneyland? In WDW they look COMPLETELY different... and they are not face characters. That's so weird!

I will miss April/December but looking forward to seeing Master Gracy. Yes, I agree I think we all get jealous when we see how perfect his photos come out :D. I remember the last time we were at the park Sparky was trying to get just the right shot (I think it was of small world clock) he positions the camera on a garbage can so he wouldn't shake he moved the angle every so slowly to get it just right, then Mr. Isaac goes "point..click...bam" with his camera, instant masterpiece LOL :p

The pictures on this page are actually from Tokyo... but they look pretty much like the fairies at WDW... that's weird that they use such different costumes!

When I saw the Main Street Electrical Parade at Euro Disneyland in August 2002, Cinderella's fairy godmother was a mask character as well. She had a beauty mark on her cheek.
